740 Heated seats22 Nov 2005 22:31 GMT2
The cold weather is setting in with a vengeance now and I would very much
like it if I could get my heated seats to work (haven't worked for years but
never felt the need for them before - must be getting old).  The switches
light up and the fuses are OK, so I guess it's either ...
which volvos can tow 2000 lbs?22 Nov 2005 17:52 GMT5
I'm relatively new to Volvos, bought a 240DL last year and have grown to
appreciate it's qualities.
Now we're thinking of downsizing our camping rig, from a camper/truck to
a 2000 pound camper and smaller tow vehicle.  What would be a good
1999 V70 ETS Light22 Nov 2005 13:37 GMT3
I live one hour north of Toronto, Ontario in Canada.  My wife and I have a
99 V70.  The ETS (Electronic Throttle Control System) light comes on after
the car has been running for about 15 minutes.  Our mechanic cleaned the
throttle cable; however, the problem continues.  I have ...
S70 fan spinning up and a whine?22 Nov 2005 13:36 GMT5
I have a 1998 S70 T5, and often after I start the car, or when I'm idling
at a light, I can hear some sort of motor or fan start up. It spins for
less than a minute and then stops. It's almost like the sound when a
vacuum cleaner starts and stops.

Need 740  B230F engine parts21 Nov 2005 17:18 GMT12
I  need some timing belt- associated parts for a  89 Volvo 740 GL. It
has the non-turbo B230F engine.  The most urgent thing is a  new
crankshaft sprocket (for the timing belt). That's the sprocket behind
the crankshaft pulley.  Need a complete one, with front and rear

850 a/c evap replaced20 Nov 2005 22:41 GMT2
About a month ago I had the evaporator replaced in my '96 850 (non climate
control), by a Volvo dealer (ouch!) in Sydney Australia.  It was a big job
and I felt they would be able to do it with a lot less trouble than I could.
And it was done quickly and professionally.

850 Programmable Intermittent Wiper19 Nov 2005 17:22 GMT10
Just got around to replacing the wiper relay with a VW/Audi part that
converts it to a programmable intermittent with no modification aside
from replacement of the wiper relay.  I learned about this long ago from
previous posts.  It works great -- now my '95 854T has a ...
850 tailgate gas struts19 Nov 2005 17:01 GMT3
What's the method for changing the tailgate gas struts?
I've looked but can't see the obvious way of doing this and with the
cold weather am starting to get bored of the tailgate coming down on my
head.
M46 overdrive questions 1986 24519 Nov 2005 15:09 GMT1
1.  Is there a single lead to instrument panel for overdrive light?  Since I
installed a tach the "5" light no longer comes on.
2.  Where is the overdrive solenoid specifically located and does it have
any distinguishing markings?  Is it an easy DIY replacement project?
