Hi, I'm new to this forum. We are living in England and have a petrol Volvo 740 Estate automatic. Recently it's been reluctant to start on cold days. Our initial thought was ice in the fuel so we added something to dry out any water in the fuel. The engine was turning over fine ...

My wife's '96 850 GLT was totalled (she is fine (it's a Volvo!)). We had not yet mounted her snow tires. They are Gislaved 185/65 R15 on steel rims (part # 6819704 5). Can they go on my '98 S70? Can't seem to find the information elsewhere online.

| Return of the abandoned Volvo | 12 Dec 2005 07:33 GMT | 15 |
I posted here last summer about this abandoned Volvo 760 wagon which was just sitting in a motel parking lot, unlocked, for about a year and a half, pretty good condition, no rust or dents, can't remember how many miles but it wasn't bad.

World's Safest Autos >>> 2005 The are some surprising omissions from the list of winners. There no Volvos, for example, among the winners. Volvo, which is part of Ford Motor Company, has traditionally marketed its vehicles as being

| cold air from central console outlets | 11 Dec 2005 09:45 GMT | 2 |
Winter has come for good and I have noticed that two outlets located in the central console are blowing cold air no matter what I set in AC in my '99 v40. Side outlets works as suspected: hot/cold air, depending on the ac settings. I suspect some sort of valves to be stuck. ...

In cold weather now it takes about 10 to 15 seconds when I turn the ignition key to ON for the instrument panel gauge lights to all light up. Once this happens then I can turn the key to START and the engine starts fine. If I just turn the key to START on a cold morning then the ...

Just bought a 1993 240 5-speed wagon and on the drive home noticed an occassional chirp/squeak when moving into first or sometimes second gear. It doesn't always happen and it is very quiet and quick. Anyone have any ideas of what this might be?

| '93 960 sudden no start woes | 10 Dec 2005 15:24 GMT | 1 |
My '93 960 abruptly ceased starting after I checked the fuel rail pressure (50 psi btw). It had been running a little rich but there has been no noticable impact on the drivability other than the persistent 231 and 512 engine codes. All that was done was connect a pressure gauge ...
