| Let's talk about paint (please). | 06 Mar 2006 02:18 GMT | 9 |
I've got the gold paint on my 1987 740. Now, amazingly the sides of this car look like the day it left the lot - shiney, hardly a visible nick or scratch and even the pinstripes are intact. The hood is pretty bad, the roof is VERY bad and the trunk is so-so.

| need new AMM also which fuel system LH2.2 or LH2.4? | 05 Mar 2006 22:46 GMT | 9 |
I am trying to identify the fuel system that is installed on my car. I am going to replace the AMM on my car (it has failed to work). The previous owner replaced the original AMM (Air Mass Meter/Air Flow Meter) with one from a salvage yard, I think he put in the wrong one.

Yup, our '88 245 is still very not starting. I'm thinking about trying this theory others have had regarding cleaning the throttle body on the car. Before, when the car ran symptoms that pre-cluded this no-start

| foggy tail-lights (240 wagon) | 05 Mar 2006 00:48 GMT | 2 |
the plastic tail-lights on my '89 240 wagon are really getting foggy/cloudy. They are still intact, just the plastic getting fogged by exposure. Back in the '50s, friends and I used to build model airplanes. The balsa wood structure was covered with thin paper or silk, then painted ...

| re: 1993 240 DL check engine light issue | 04 Mar 2006 20:51 GMT | 10 |
Car was running great but while checking noticed the AMM was failiong on the burnoff test. No check engine light on, but I figured I should be proactive and replace it.

| Strange Squeal | 04 Mar 2006 01:15 GMT | 4 |
When I start my car I often times hear a strange squealing sound for a few seconds. I also hear a slightly different but similarly annoying squealing (almost like monkeys are trapped in my steering column) when turning the wheel sharply.

| Fuel Pump Relay - Can I please have an overview? | 04 Mar 2006 00:41 GMT | 6 |
One of the things that will make me nervous on my first road trip will be the fuel pump relay. My 1987 740 GLE (non-turbo) has 200,000 miles and I would like to inspect this. I have read how it may require soldering.
