light foot 740twagon, 10mpg in town28 Apr 2006 17:40 GMT3
Starts great, smooth, no gas odor, grandmother driven. no binding,
tires ok, no smoke... well in normal driving, perhaps when revved high
some black. Any short cuts to trouble shoot this brick. I have heard in
town figures in thelow 20's, If I can get that it will save the car. On

Million Dollar Policy28 Apr 2006 07:42 GMT1
When I bought a new '96 850 Turbo TLA, the salesman told me several
times that Volvo had a blanket life insurance policy which would pay a
million dollars to the estate of any occupant killed via auto accident
while inside the car.
Same old - Same Old ---> Squeaky brakes28 Apr 2006 05:10 GMT4
1998 V70- 100,000 miles
Squeaky brake(s)(?) so had new pads installed & rotors machined by
non-Volvo shop.
Next day still squeaky - back to shop, supposedly fix, no squeaking
reversing aid sensors malfunction27 Apr 2006 01:06 GMT5
I had a 1998 Volvo S40 (non-automatic) and fitted a Parking Partner
reversing sensor kit, taking power by tapping into the reverse lamp
lead, and it worked perfectly.
I now have a 2003 Volvo S40 automatic. The body is essentially the same
240 auto transmission top up26 Apr 2006 23:57 GMT4
Can anyone advise me where to put the auto transmission fluid? My 240 is
kinda changing down a gear and I'm fairly sure that the fluid is the
problem. Should probably buy a Haynes manual but apart from being a tight
wad, I didn't undertstand the one I got for my 2 stroke moped... ...
Premium  system and commerical Surround Sound CD's?26 Apr 2006 22:10 GMT1
Don¹t know if this has come up before.  Recently acquired a 2004 V70 with
premium sound system (HU-803) featuring pro logic surround sound.
However, 2 new surround sound CD¹s at Best Buy wouldn¹t play, and another
that I know works perfectly on an Acura TL surround system also ...
Tight Steering26 Apr 2006 16:19 GMT3
I recently bought a 98 V70 with 134,000. I like the car but the
steering seems a bit too tight, even for me and my wife complains that
her wrist hurts after driving for awhile. Does anyone know if the
"stiffness" of the steering is adjustable in any way?
volvo 960 with ESP - possible ?26 Apr 2006 14:56 GMT4
I have downloaded a brochure about buying a used volvo 960's from the
volvo home
page. The brochure does not mention anything about ESP (Electronic
Stability Program) for any years - also not the last years.
My Volvo Saved My Life....26 Apr 2006 09:55 GMT24
Hey, guys...I just have to relate this story once again. The last time
was about three years ago, OK?
My Mom and Dad were involved in the middle of a (If I can remember
correctly) 67 car pile up on the road about 10 miles from Bakersfield,
New S40 a good buy?26 Apr 2006 00:10 GMT17
I'm helping my father buy a new car (in the UK), and come to the conclusion
that an S40 would be ideal for him, perhaps a 1.6D S.
What he wants is something safe, comfortable, quiet, not too expensive,
well-designed, and crucially, short enough to go in his garage. The length
Volvo: Profitable in US?25 Apr 2006 22:12 GMT25
I've heard that despite Ford's financial problems, Volvo is their "cash
cow" in the US. Is this true? Does the Volvo brand make money in the US or
are they losing their butts like, for example, Volkswagen?
New and Old Boy's - 740 vs S80 :))25 Apr 2006 00:43 GMT3

I like this group.25 Apr 2006 00:07 GMT3
Gee... this newsgroup is just getting better and better.  I would say the
old turbo is really kicking in lately.  Don't get me wrong, while I jest I
am learning plenty, thanks to all.
But what ever happened to Jamie and the $500 740 that he was rebuilding?
I'm joining the volvo world24 Apr 2006 21:28 GMT5
Good day all,
I just purchased a Canadian 1995 850 gle non-turbo wagon.  I'm looking
forward to many years with it. Is there anything I need to look out for?
Thanks
