mls.
Its been there for about 12 months - it drives me mad.

Bought a new bosal exaust  online for my 1994 volvo 850 and had it installed
by cole muffler . It's way too loud. How do i tone it down.

I've posted a few threads recently, trying to pin down what's wrong
with my 940 wagon - threatening to stall on a regular basis. Various
suggestions about AMM, fuel pump relay, etc. However, I failed to
mention one aspect of the initial flare up of this fault (duh!):

Whenever I start my '97 Volvo 850, whether it's been resting overnight
or just a few minutes, it blows out a puff of grey smoke, but after
