I have a 1998 V70XC with the dealer-installed roof rack, but I can't
find the Torx tool needed to move the rails back and forth. Does anyone
know the size I'd need? I checked my local hardware store and they have
several different sizes, but unfortunately the car is down at the ...

timing marks on b230f engine (1990)25 Jun 2006 04:06 GMT1
Hello, I just got done rebuilding my B230f, and am just putting
everything back onto it, but I noticed something funny about the timing
marks, specifically, the one on the crankshaft.  The nub you are
supposed to line up is in between teeth on the belt, so you have to
Question about the 'normal sound' of a B230F engine25 Jun 2006 00:42 GMT9
I am in the process of trying to transfer video from my camcorder to
the internet and should have this done by tonight. What I did was
attempt to capture the audio of my engine, and my camcorder just
happens to be all I have.

Where to buy Torx screws24 Jun 2006 02:05 GMT1
I have a 2001 Volvo S60, while installing a new sound system, lost one
of the torx screws that holds the climate control panel in place. It's
a T25 head, I think 3/16" diameter and about 1/2" long. The threading
is very spaced out for a screw this size.

Volvo 240dl station electronic problems, alternator?22 Jun 2006 21:31 GMT12
I've been reading a lot on alternator problems in this group. My
problem is similar to the ones I've read but just a little different
(of course).
Car: Volvo 240 dl station 1986 manual.
Now I know what the "F" in B230F stands for!22 Jun 2006 16:48 GMT5
Boy did I say the "F-word" once or twice today.  Bob, the tool you
showed me for depressing the valve springs was exactly what I could
have used.
OK - here's the deal on my valve shim job today:
740 brakes rattling? Don't rush off for a brake job yet...22 Jun 2006 05:42 GMT3
My front brakes have been rattling while driving down the road. By
lightly pressing the brakes the rattle goes away.
What to do?  Well - I read a lot. Discovering I have bendix front
brakes I was ready to replace the pads and rotors and get a pin kit.

1998 v70 tailgate21 Jun 2006 22:08 GMT6
The wife's 1998 v70 tailgate has become difficult to close.  Prior to
this problem, the tailgate would latch/lock with minimal effort.  Now,
we have to slam it hard in order for it to stay latched shut (i.e., if
I push down, it will latch but with some play...if I grab the tailgate
