1993 940 Gas Gauge31 Jul 2006 18:52 GMT2
In my 1993 940, I seem to be having a curious problem with the gas
gauge. It consistently reads about 2 US GAL less than it should...and
if the car hasn't been run in a while, it will read empty until 5-10
minutes of driving, when it will slowly creep up.

My Walmart Oil Change From Hell31 Jul 2006 14:43 GMT51
I just went through the oil change from hell. I figured Walmart could
at least change the oil and filter on my S80. WRONG!
After waiting for an hour and twenty minutes they inform me they don't
have the Fram filter but said if I go buy it they would deduct what I

I recently purchased a '98 V70 AWD and noticed that the coolant tank
was empty. Even after filling it, the level would still disappear
gradually until the tank was empty again. It seemed to be coming from

This is just for reference as I just struggled through this problem and
found many posts helpful but couldn't reply because they are older
threads. But I wanted to post the resolution for reference for someone
else.
1998 V70 R - replaced battery30 Jul 2006 04:44 GMT4
My original battery finally died so I put in a new one yesterday.  The
Service Engine light is blinking, the Tracs Off light is on, the ABS
light is on, and the odometer now reads 220K whereas before I put the
battery in it read 136K.  Also, all info below the odometer is blank:
Alternator short circuit28 Jul 2006 21:49 GMT4
I have a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. I just replaced the alternator, but when
it came to connecting the wires I ran into problems. Every time I
attach the battery cables I hear sparks and the alternator goes 'pop'.
I'm guessing that there's a short circuit, but I'm not sure how to fix

Transmission linkage bushing28 Jul 2006 13:30 GMT2
I posted a few days ago about my rattling shift lever on my 1990 240.
The suggestion was that a rubber bushing in the linkage disintegrated,
which is exactly what happened.  Now I need to replace it.  It doesn't
look to be high-tech.
S80 2000 Engine performance28 Jul 2006 05:27 GMT8
I have 2000 S80 with 42K miles.  Recently its been runing very strange at
around 60-80 MPH.  Very sluggish throttle response.  The dealer says
