1990 740 GLE Electrical Help!27 Jul 2006 20:03 GMT2
Problems with above car, my a/c blower, horn, and cruise control do not
work.  I'm trying to just fix the blower (the horn might be nice, too),
but I'm thinking maybe these all have something to do with each
other....If anyone has any experience with 740 electricals, I could use

Hello, my 1990 240 DL wagon's temperature gauge gets up near the red
zone after idleing on a hot day for 20 minutes or so.  I have flushed
out the coolant, and after suspecting there was an air bubble in there,
tried to "burp" it through the upper radiator hose, but it was

We just took delivery on our 2006 C70 and wonder if getting the TST paint
protection package is worth the money.

Take a look at the video about the way they made the straight six so small
and tell me you don't shudder to think of the cost of replacement for an
alternator, or god forbid something the integrated into the block!

me some grief that is difficult for me to describe to the mechanic, and of

I have a 1998 UK spec V70 Classic with the standard fit Volvo alarm system
activated by the keyfob.
Is it possible to modify this alarm system to full closure i.e shuts the
electric windows (if open) on activation?

The heater only works on position 4.
The aircon compressor cuts in and out when you switch it on.
Any ideas?

    I think that I'm having a starter problem (again!!).  On hot days
(mid-90's and above) after the car sits for 20 minutes or longer, it
won't crank.  If I leave the key on and jump the connections on the
solenoid and starter motor, it will spin the starter.  Then I can start

Our constantly ignored but alway ticking 93 940 wagon is losing oil.  I
don't even know how much.  It's my younger son's drive.  Yesterday I
asked hime to check oil.  He had to add 2 qts. of Mobile 1 to top it

The local shop dropped the bomb Friday and said my evaporator has a
sizable leak. Can someone tell me how they know this, especially since the
evaporator is hidden behind the dash? They couldn't find a leak in one of
the hoses, but they said there must be a leak since it's got oil ...

Would it be safe to say that as a general rule of thumb that Automatic
Volvo's shift slightly harsher that other makes of cars.  IE: Tractor engine
attached to Tank Transmission?
Or do I just have a sour tranny.
740 front bushings - to replace all, or some?25 Jul 2006 03:06 GMT5
I bought a set of bushings for my front end and so far so good. I
pulled the radius arms off and will bring them to the shop tomorrow to
press out the old bushings and in with the new. I also will swap out
the radius rod bushings closest to the hub. These are a piece of cake.

I had my V70 serviced a couple of weeks back at my dealer.  The passenger
side was blowing hot and the driver's side was cold then cool in about 20-30
second swings.  My dealer pressurized the A/C system.  Now it seems that
both sides blow alternately cold then cool in similar ...
