850 Blower Motor19 Jul 2006 05:25 GMT9
I recently (~3 weeks ago) purchased a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT with ~120k
miles on it. About a week later, I smelled and saw smoke coming from
the vents, and the blower motor ceased to work. Lights on the ECU have
been flashing. Car does have ECC.
Valve Stem Seals for '98 V70 AWD19 Jul 2006 00:47 GMT5
I am reasonably sure that the puff of blue smoke on start (or after at
least a ~30 min rest) indicates an issue with deteriorating valve stem
seals.
The actual seals are cheap, but are they "easy" to remove/replace?  I
850 stalling - ongoing problem 3 months19 Jul 2006 00:44 GMT2
'94 850 sedan non-turbo, 205K miles:
Had intermittent stalling, random, sometimes at startup, sometimes
after engine hot.  Seemed worse on hot days, or in heavy hot highway
stop+go traffic. Worse also when a/c has been running, seemingly. Up to
pls forgive me but what does "f.ldd" mean ?18 Jul 2006 23:30 GMT2
Sorry, but I see this acronym frequently in Volvo matters and despite
several searches, I cannot find out what it means.

740 GLE sometimes won't start ?18 Jul 2006 21:47 GMT14
I have a 1989 Volvo 740 GLE, B230F engine (I think ... standard 16-valve
fuel-injected).
Anyway... in the summer, it will occasionally not start. I don't recall
if it has happened in the cooler months. If it has, it has been much
V70 2.5T Tires18 Jul 2006 21:21 GMT12
Finally, after 45,000 miles I got to replace the Pirelli P6 tires on my
2004 Volvo V70 2.5T.  There was probably 15,000 miles left, but a
sidewall bubble forced the issue.  Those tires were harsh riding and
noisy from the day I got the car in 2004 and regular balancing and
Part Number?18 Jul 2006 17:47 GMT3
After a long journey in Europe, I have come to the conclusion that having a
wide angle door mirror on the left hand side of my car in addition to the
standard right hand wide angle mirror would be of great use.
My car is a UK 1998 V70 Classic.

Diesel Wagon?18 Jul 2006 12:42 GMT13
Due to a recent tragic accident involving a friend, I am looking for a
safe car for my wife and 11 month old daughter.  I am pretty well
informed on cars, but don't know squat about Volvos, other than they
are known for safety.
high nox- won't pass 1988 24018 Jul 2006 12:29 GMT27
Hi, Anyone have any ideas, I have a new MAS, had the the intake side
cleaned by a knowledgeable volvo guy, the cat is relatively new, as is
the O2 sensor, the CO and HC are as low as could be for that car. The
car runs great (only 74,000 miles) Any thoughts would be greatfully
Texas used car sales tax rate?18 Jul 2006 03:40 GMT5

different for a private party selling a used car  to another private
party?
Questions on coolant recovery tank...17 Jul 2006 13:49 GMT12
Its a 1992 Volvo 740 GL turbo wagon. THe car overheated....didn't
get into the red, but got up above the usual mid-scale reading. I
found the coolant recovery tank was empty.  When looking for the
reason why, I found  the electric fan had shorted out. There is no
C70/S70/V70 Center Channel Speaker Removal17 Jul 2006 10:37 GMT1
I recently purchased a '99 C70 HPT Coupe and despite how much fun it
is, my head is about to explode from an annoying squeek in the dash
eminating from around the center channel speaker area.  I'm guessing
it's plastic rubbing on plastic.  Does anybody know how to remove the
Three different questions about a 1980 240 DL17 Jul 2006 00:25 GMT1
First off I have a 1980 240 DL that I'm doing some work on.  I was
pokin' around underneath the drivers side dash and found a small metal
hatch that can be opened and closed about an inch or so.  I haven't the
slightest idea what this is.  It looked like some kind of ventilation
Stereo in Older Volvo's16 Jul 2006 20:52 GMT16
I have a 1980 240 DL and I was looking around to buy a receiver for it
with maybe a tape deck, but I searched ebay and google/froogle and
found nothing at all.  Are they fairly reliable and just hard to find
or did they all die out early?  Anyone know of one I could purchase?
