| Starting to put my 740 to the test and I'm pleased | 29 Aug 2006 00:00 GMT | 1 |
After spending the last 7 months getting my 1987 740 in shape, I am finally starting to see dividends. The point was to spend the money necessary to get this car capable of being my everyday commuter. I sold my Honda to eliminate a car note ($400) because I only live about 8

| Tracs off light has come on 1997 850 GLT Wagon | 28 Aug 2006 15:53 GMT | 2 |
My Tracs off light has been off for quite some time now, and I'd like to get it fixed. I am hoping that the code 443 is something that is cheaper than replacing the entire Tracs control module. Does anyone know?

| Volvo 240 failed MOT | 28 Aug 2006 11:06 GMT | 7 |
Our car today failed its MOT on several points. Couple of minor things like needing new numberplates, a light was not working and a couple of tyre issues. One of the issues though we are unsure about the possible cost to replace.

All, I have ordered a new exhaust tip for my car as the existing one is falling apart. It's original so I think it's time for replacement. I see there is a single bolt on the bottom and I'm wondering if it's as

| 1985 360GLT the saga continues | 26 Aug 2006 23:56 GMT | 2 |
Thanks for the replies, except for the ones questioning my sanity and parentage, regarding the diesel engine conversion. Now for a 'need it soon' question. The front left side electric window motor has given up the ghost. No luck contacting dismantlers for a second hand unit. Can ...

| 1987 740 spilling coolant from radiator plug | 25 Aug 2006 21:59 GMT | 5 |
Today I was sitting in a long line at a drive-through restaurant, like 30 minutes in 100F weather with the engine running and A/C going. The temperature gauge never went above about 1/2 way on the dash, which is the usual range for the car. When I parked the car I noticed

Have been to dealer twice for audible/palpable (with your feet) "rubbing" or mild vibration apparently from the front left corner when turning left, worse with power on, but also with trailing throttle into a left hander.... hoped this was the wheel bearing (just did the other ...

I have a 99 Volvo s-80 2.9L non-turbo. I have been through a lot with the car that I won't get into but the latest is that the dealer's service people say that the car needs a new PCV box because it is sludged closed, they think. I am a little skeptical, especially when

| S70 check engine light and battery removal | 25 Aug 2006 21:00 GMT | 3 |
My battery was disconnected to do some maintenance, one of which was the replacement of my SAS valve/air pump, which triggered the Check Engine light. So far, the light hasn't come back on yet after 150 miles and a week of driving. Is that sufficient mileage / car starts to be ...

| considering '01 V40 wagon | 25 Aug 2006 20:04 GMT | 1 |
Seriously considering this model as it's better on gas than an Outback, is certainly more saftey minded (two infants) and well, it's not japanese. Is there any special considerations I should take into account when shopping? Known troubles, things to look out for, repairs
