| Recommendations on best volvo | 30 Sep 2006 05:31 GMT | 6 |
I'm in the market for a car, I don't drive around town and can't justify a new vehicle. I want a reliable road car that will last a few decades. I don't care about A/C or any modern conveniences.

| Water Pump | 29 Sep 2006 06:33 GMT | 17 |
My 1994 940 Volvo wagon had the timing belt replaced about a year ago. Last night I noticed a patch of oily substance on the ground under the passenger side. Upon closer look it seems the water pump is leaking. My question is whether I can get to it without removing a lot of other

| S80 2000 intermittently poor engine performance | 29 Sep 2006 01:42 GMT | 7 |
My 2000 S80 at 44k miles has developed intermittently poor engine performance. I've had the car to the dealer twice and it apparently runs ok and shows no diagnostic faults. The car stumbles and accelerates poorly at part throttle... to me its reminiscent of a defective ...

| 1968 142S - Help with the headlight please | 28 Sep 2006 22:11 GMT | 2 |
I bought a 1968 142S today and I don't know where I can get a headlight bulb for it. Does anyone know what they are or if there are other cars that use them? All the vintage volvo parts sites don't list bulbs at all. I found a few sites with taillight bulbs and glovebox bulbs, but

| buying a 240 | 28 Sep 2006 22:07 GMT | 5 |
I've been looking at an '89 240 wagon with just under 200,000km. Its in decent shape with a bit of rust on the tailgate and a bit on the fenders. The rest of the body is decent. The owner has recently put a new starter in, a new muffler, and changed the pads in the front about

| 740 -88 Leaking fuel hose | 28 Sep 2006 16:18 GMT | 1 |
There is some fuel leaking from the hose located next to the fuel tank on my Volvo 740 GLT -88b. I don't think it is a hole in the tank but have not been able to take a closer look. When I called the local Volvo-dealer I was told that the whole armature

| Synthetic oil in an 850 with 150K miles | 27 Sep 2006 16:32 GMT | 36 |
I have a 1995 850 wagon with about 160K miles. At about 150K miles, a mechanic in a local repair shop recommended I switch to synthetic oil because of the age and mileage on the vehicle. I did start to use synthetic and have since change the oil 3 times (i.e. every 3000 ...

I'm looking at a 2000 S70 with 66,000. The dealer wants $12,000.00. I would appreciate any comments, advice, things to look for etc. At what mileage are their major services (timing belt, tune up). I have a 95 850 wagon and a 1990 740 which I'm very happy with but I need the ...
