| 850 wagon spare tire | 16 Oct 2006 11:29 GMT | 2 |
I bought a 96 850 wagon and it came without the spare tire and jack so I want to try to get them from a junkyard. Does the 850 sedan come with the same thin spare tire or do I have to get it from another station wagon?

| Hood Hinge Mechanism For A '78 264GL (Failure) | 16 Oct 2006 02:49 GMT | 2 |
Well, the saga (good Nordic word that) continues. While the engine in my 78 264GL is in good shape, I just developed a new fly in the ointment. Both hood hinges show signs of severe rust, and the left one just broke clean in half at the aft pivot point. Just how often does

| Fear of AWD. | 16 Oct 2006 02:07 GMT | 18 |
Bucks are tight right now, and I'm looking for a used Volvo. 100,000 miles are a lot, but this 1998 V70 GLT looks clean. Kelly Blue book tells me this retails for $9,500 USD and the dealer is willing to part with it for $9,000.

| My First - 1978 264GL | 16 Oct 2006 01:48 GMT | 6 |
Hello and it is good to be here. I just landed a 1978 264GL for $350 US. The body needs work, as the car sat for 15 years before being somewhat restored by the local Salvation Army. There is also some damage to the rear and trunk where the

| V70 fuel consumption | 14 Oct 2006 15:11 GMT | 2 |
Can anyone tell me what sort of average fuel consumption you are getting with a V or W reg V70 diesel? I'd prefer real experience rather than stated consumption figures. I will be doing at least 130 motorway miles a day at steady speed.

| My ECC has gone insane - 97 850 GLT | 14 Oct 2006 05:49 GMT | 3 |
So I'm driving along and feeling hot. I put my hand in front of the outlet and it's blowing warm air. Oh No, not another evap! But wait! I put my hand in front of passenger vent and it's blowing cold. Both controls set to 72F. If I put my damper control on Auto, it'll start

| 96 850 Trunk Light Switch | 14 Oct 2006 01:43 GMT | 1 |
I have a problem where the trunk light stays on sometimes after closing the trunk and kills the battery if I don't notice it being on. My question is, where is the door switch for the light? I suspect it's a mercury tilt switch that detects the level of the trunk lid,

| Volvos explained | 13 Oct 2006 11:57 GMT | 84 |
I've wondered for a long time why anybody would buy a Volvo. They're ugly, though recent models are a little less so, and built like a brick. They also affect the minds of fairly normal (I said fairly) who are turned into that dangerous and stupid road beast, the Volvo driver,

| Should I use... ...on my new oil drain plug...? | 13 Oct 2006 00:27 GMT | 3 |
I've purchased a Oil Temperature gauge for my 1991 Volvo 240. It came complete with sender, which seems to work when i hook it up to an ohmmeter and apply a cigarette lighter flame to it, it changes resistance. The sender is an oil drain plug, which replaces the stock oil drain ...

| Oil leaking from dipstick | 12 Oct 2006 18:05 GMT | 3 |
Hi, I have a 91' 780 Turbo. It had a small problem with burning oil, not too bad but noticeable, so I added some "Barr's Engine Repair" additive. I did some looking around on the net and did not really read anything bad about Barr's products so I added it.

I'm looking for a passenger side mirror glass for my 1989 Volvo 740. I can only find entire mirror assemblies. Anyone sell just the removable mirror part?

| S70 Information Display Oddities | 12 Oct 2006 03:15 GMT | 2 |
Whenever I switch the information display on my 98' S70 (MPG->Temp for example) it is displaying "disc" more and more frequently. Sometimes I have to keep switching back and forth to make it work. It is still usable, but it seems to be getting worse as time goes on (I had a ton

My '96 850 that I purchased with 80K miles laste year is ready for some new brake pads. I'm capable of doing my own pad replacements. What is your opinion on brake pad brands from dealership vs. other volvo aftermarket retailers such as IPD or Groton for good pads that have less
