| 2002 XC70 Tailgate won't unlock/open | 17 Jan 2007 14:22 GMT | 3 |
2002 XC70. When I got it a few months ago the passenger side (left, I am in the UK) rear door central locking wasn't working. Volvo dealer said it needed a new lock. I haven't had it fixed yet as it really doesn't cause me any problems and I can still lock and unlock it

| 1989 240 GL Head Gasket | 16 Jan 2007 02:21 GMT | 2 |
I'm thinking about buying a 1989 240 GL with 200,000 miles on it for a couple hundred dollars from a buddy of mine. It's leaking oil from a crack in the head gasket and I really don't know much about cars so I'm not sure how much a fix like this costs. Is it something that you

I have a problem with my 740 Turbo 1988 with 230 motor. It was backfiring and finally died. It was suggested that the time belt had jumped a few cogs. So I started to fix and change a few things. I have put new plugs in, new spark plug leads, new timing belt, new harmonic balancer ...

I've got a 1992 240 that's been acting a bit odd lately. if I take it out for a drive, stop driving it for a while (30 minutes to 2 hours, it seems), and then drive it again, it has problems going from 2nd to 3rd and oftentimes won't go into 4th at all. I've driven it to and from

| Best used Volvo (non-wagon) for $15000 or less | 12 Jan 2007 22:12 GMT | 8 |
I want to buy a used Volvo. I owned a 1973 model and loved it. I know Ford has bought Volvo and this makes me uncomfortable (I currently own a Ford and it's less than desirable). What is a good, reliable model for $15000 or less? I live in Texas where it's hot all the time, so the

Buy an older Volvo -- before the Ford acquisition -- as countless others have said. I would recommend a 1993-1995 940 Turbo, either in sedan or wagon shape (depending on your preference). In my opinion, they are the last of the "classic" Volvos. Don't get me wrong,
