OK, this is defintely a new one on me.  The check engine light's on in
our non-turbo 1995 850.  My trusty OBD-II reader says no codes but
displays all the sensor data, etc., normally and claims to be
communicating with the car both as a Volvo and as generic OBD-II.

I live in downtown Toronto and I'm wondering if anyone knows any good
indy mechanics who specialize in Volvos, specifically in the downtown
west-end? Up until now I've been visiting South Scarborough Auto
Service (volvo specialists) way out in, you guessed it, Scaraborough

Are you supposed to rotate the tires on the AWD Volvos? Some places say no,
some say 5K to 10K but don't do the "standard" Front Right to Back Left,
Front Left to Back right, and back tires straight to the front on the same
side.

Ok...I finally ran my own tests today.  Spark is strong to all 4
cylinders. Fuel pressure in the rail is 42 when cranking. I lifted the
entire fuel rail/injectors up and watched them while cranking. They

Took a very short trip the other day and came home to discover that
coolant was leaking all over the place.  The car didn't overheat, and
I believe I've isolated the source of the leak - the water pump, or
the gaskets therefrom.

Does anyone know which fuse is for the front, and rear lighter
sockets? Both are out, and their is no sign of a blown fuse in the
panel under the hood.

My 1997 V70 has developed an irritating fault - although the rear
tailgate wiper works perfectly, the screen wash simply won't. The fluid
reservoir is full, and I can hear the pump working, but no water comes
out to wash the rear screen.

Yesterday my 940 (130k miles) displayed the brake failure light on the
instrument panel when applying the brakes. Checking the veh' book it stated
the fluid may be low. The fluid level is ok showing no loss of fluid. Today

My check engine light came on and a ran a test which CARMD told me
was: change Barometric Pressure Sensor.  What is this for? what does
it do? and what happens if I don't do it now or for a while?

I was told that the Volvo 740 (bf230) when shut down, the engine fills
they cylinders with oil so on a start up there is never any metal on
metal contact.
Is this true?
