| 91 740 Wagon problems redux | 12 May 2007 14:30 GMT | 5 |
Ok, I posted the other day about this. Someone said it could be the air mass sensor, or the coolant temp monitor. It just got harder and harder to start. Here's the history again:

| 5-cylinder diesel variants | 11 May 2007 18:20 GMT | 4 |
The diesel options for the current V70 come in 2 flavours - 163PS and 185PS. They both have the same 2.4L capacity. Does anyone know whether the different power outputs are simply due to chipping - or whether there are any physical differences in the engines?

| Chicken clucking sound | 11 May 2007 18:20 GMT | 6 |
In the last couple of weeks, my 1990 240 has started making an odd noise. When I start the car, the motor catches and I release the key, there's a few seconds of a "chicken clucking" noise. Maybe a turkey gobble. Anyone know what that is and whether I should be doing

| Idle rpm too high | 11 May 2007 15:29 GMT | 3 |
I have an '83 240 wagon, and I need to get it through emissions, but they won't test it because it's idling at around 1250, and I need to get it down to 1100. Could anyone help me out with this? I have very little working knowledge, but would like to attempt this myself, if

| Geartronic | 11 May 2007 13:23 GMT | 2 |
According to my local Volvo dealer an increasing proportion of V70s are now being supplied with Geartronic auto transmissions rather than manual boxes (and this is in UK, not north America!) All he could tell me is that it's an auto box with with manual over-ride but

| 850 Turbo A/C doesn't get cold | 11 May 2007 07:29 GMT | 12 |
I have a 1996 850 that I just bought in November and when I turn on the A/C it doesn't get cold. I looked at the manual and it called for a certain type of freon which I couldn't find in Autozone. I was wondering what do I need to get some cold air blowing? Break this

| V70R BHP Question | 10 May 2007 09:15 GMT | 1 |
I am looking at 2004-2006 V70Rs with an automatic transmission. I thought that I had read somewhere that the 2004 and 2005 engines were de-tuned from their 300bhp capabilities on automatics, as the transmissions were a weak point. However this was resolved in 2006

| J. Sweet: source for temp sensor? | 09 May 2007 17:30 GMT | 3 |
Re: 92 740 turbo wagon B230FT.... dash temp gauge..... I pulled off the eng. coolant temp sensor conn. and jumped it....the gauge then went full-scale, so that shows that there is no abnormal external resistance. It may not be the normal failure mode for a

| 89 760 Turbo engine shutting down! | 09 May 2007 13:26 GMT | 7 |
My 760 Turbo will be running along fine, then suddenly the engine just stops! In a few moments, it will start again and run for weeks without problems. Could it be the fuel line, or perhaps an electrical problem?

| 97 850 T-5 : Computer Mileage lower than Actual? | 09 May 2007 11:00 GMT | 6 |
97 850 T-5 with 200K Miles. Several months ago I was getting the trip MPG to show 32-34 MPG for a highway run on my way home from work. Kind of a game for me to maximize this.

| Dan Stern dropped the ball -- need new headlight source. | 08 May 2007 16:29 GMT | 8 |
I need a new source for something like 80W Osrams or German quality H-4 for my e-codes. Dan communicated with me about 20 days ago - suggesting what to buy, so I e-mailed him the order and voice-mailed my credit card information. I placed the call and e-mail on about

| mirror glass | 08 May 2007 03:33 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone know if the mirror glass is replaceable on an 89 740? I believe they are the cable operated and not electric if that matters. Was backing out of the driveway and bam the glass part just hit the ground and broke.
