Is there such a beast?
I would be interested in a diesel AWD vehicle that is not an SUV.
Suggestions?  Links?

New AC Compressor a drag15 Aug 2007 21:47 GMT13
To set the stage I have a 1995 850 GLT Wagon (NA) with about 190km.
Friday evening (true to form) my AC compressor clutch seized. I
happened to have the hood open and saw it throwing sparks so I was
able to shut down before the belt was damaged. I got a remanufactured
240 wiper problem15 Aug 2007 15:55 GMT2
hi group,
my wipers have quit on me.
Close inspection shows that at the mechanism in the dash, there is a small
steel cable hanging loose. I have no idea how to repair this.
850 Remote door lock control batteries - lifetime?15 Aug 2007 07:30 GMT3
How long do the two batteries CR1220 in the original remote door lock control of
your 850 Volvos last? I replaced a pair maybe two months ago with two cheap
pieces and though in my opinion I do not use them heavily, they are empty again.
Now I have paid a little fortune for two ...
What's wrong with a 1997 960?14 Aug 2007 05:27 GMT5
My Dad sold me his mostly dealer overmaintained 960 for $1500- in
April.  (spent $1700- on belt  & some other stuff just before he drove
it up from Florida).  I am looking at taking a job with a fair amount
of mileage in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Question on 92 740 A/C......14 Aug 2007 02:09 GMT5
I tried a charge with Dura-Cool. I am not getting much cooling at all
from the A/C. None before  (there was a leak on the condenser), and
little after.  There is enough that at night when the outside temp is
in the 80s you are cool, but it is overwhelmed by humid mid-90s
Aircon re-cycling, 850 TDI13 Aug 2007 20:46 GMT1
I have a problem with the aircon in my 850 TDI - it has been for some time
now. It is cooling perfectly but
the compressor is recycling in 7 - 12 sec. intervals and this makes the car
run a little bit eratic.
Cabin Filter for 2006 S40 AWD13 Aug 2007 15:50 GMT1
I need to replace the cabin filter in my 2006 Volvo S40 AWD.  Can
someone point me to its location?  Some of the older S40's had it
under the glove box, but I couldn't find it there in my 2006.  Thanks!
AC compressor noisy13 Aug 2007 13:57 GMT2
If the AC compressor is little noisy and make small vibrations, it is
possible that the cause is an ecessive or almost insufficient charge of
the AC system?
thanks.

Neutral safety switch replacement 740 wagon13 Aug 2007 03:29 GMT6
My starter won't start. Based on advice I've found in this group, I
think my 1992 740 wagon starter won't start because of a problem with
the neutral safety switch. By wiggling the gear shift in neutral as I
keep the key turned all the way clockwise, I've been able to start the
Spark Plugs Cross Threaded13 Aug 2007 03:18 GMT4
I was planning to change the spark plugs in my 89 740 GL when I
noticed one of the spark plugs was at an angle, which it meant it must
be cross threaded. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove it
safely?
why the stick for tranny fluid inspection is so tight on 850?13 Aug 2007 03:11 GMT2
I just bought a 96 850 and today I decied to take a look at the tranny
fluid. You know what? I can not even pulled the stick out. Is there any
'trick' for this?
245 wiper problem13 Aug 2007 02:11 GMT3
OK, first I replaced the windshield wiper control arm (used one) on the
steering wheel, then the WW motor (new one), today the WW solenoid (new
one). I even ran a heavier gauge ground wire to the WW motor.
Wipers work in high speed, sometimes in slow speed never in
90 240 Odometer Quit - Again12 Aug 2007 12:53 GMT2
I just replaced the 25 tooth gear a month ago and it worked fine for a
couple weeks then quit. It worked intermittently for a few days then
quit altogether. I pulled the cluster and checked both gears and they
are fine. Could the magneto that sits on the gears be bad?
