'84 240 tach11 Aug 2007 20:52 GMT21
I just installed a large tach (that I bought cheap on ebay) into the
cluster on my 84 245. It works, but the needle only gets up to zero when
it's actually running at about 1200-1500 rpm. Is there any calibration
available on this tach? Is it possible to pull the needle off and
Amazon.com - BAD experience. I do not recommend them11 Aug 2007 08:56 GMT4
This is a classic case of let-down. In early June I ordered a copy of
the Bentley Manual for my 1985 245. I was promised a ship date of July
27th. I patiently waited and yesterday (August 6th) I checked the
status of my account. After two and one-half months, the NEW ship date
New selenoid valve = better performance ???10 Aug 2007 02:26 GMT1
Hi Al,
I have an 05 volvo s-80 T6. During my last visit to the service dealer, they
replaced a "Turbo boost pressure sensor". This was after a ECM code 601 -
Control system boost pressure fault, signal too high....reading. Is it just

My 93 240 seems to be stuck in O/D.
When I press and de-press the O/D button the

Now my 92 Volvo turbo wagon is not running!07 Aug 2007 02:37 GMT4
It has the LH Jetronic fuel control system.
THis is very strange. I was running around town when it began to die
when I released the gas pedal....the idle was gone. Then it rapidly
progressed to where the car would sort of start, but very rough, and

change water pump at time of changing timing belt?06 Aug 2007 18:42 GMT5
I have a '98 v70 glt, recently acquired, and need to change the timing
belt.  No problems with water pump at this point, so far as I know,
but a few service pros have suggested it is better to change the water
pump at time of doing the timing belt.  The Volvo service people
The output hurt my input and my bushings hurt like hell06 Aug 2007 16:41 GMT3
I feel like I've just been through a boxing match with my Volvo. Today
I spent 5 hours changing the transmission output shaft bushing and
seal. I dropped the tranny pan and changed the gasket and filter
screen, too.
1992 740 leaking coolant06 Aug 2007 14:49 GMT2
My 1992 740 wagon leaked coolant earlier today. I had the engine
running for a few minutes but then turned it off and discovered the
coolant on the ground later.
Also, the temp gauge has been in the red at times the past day or two.
r12 or r-134a  air conditioner05 Aug 2007 18:47 GMT16
I have three 240's and have air conditioner questions.
The 1989 I am sure is r12.
The 1993 has a air system that is labeled R-134a.
The 1991 has a air system that looks like the R-134a
245 heater controls - illumination?05 Aug 2007 18:10 GMT1
The instrument pnel on my 1982 245 is illuminated. The resistor thing
that adjusts brightness  sort of works in that it dims or brightens
the display, although the range of adjustment is 50% of the knob
travel is dark, 25% very very dim, and the final 25% just dim. Is this
'83 240 Strange no-start05 Aug 2007 06:30 GMT11
I drive an 83 240, with B23E engine.  I've recently had it converted
to gas, and it has been running perfectly.  It was serviced a few days
ago, and the mechanic may have changed the air/fuel mixture, i'm not
sure.  But heres the problem;
88 Volvo 740 GLE non-Turbo, starts, dies and then starts with low power.04 Aug 2007 09:07 GMT4
The car starts some times fine and in other times it starts and then
dies if put in gear and then immediately starts with no problems in
starting but when I push the accelerator the car's responce is slow it
feels like it is doesn't want to go and it just takes a little while
