92 740...stuck open-loop?31 Oct 2007 22:43 GMT7
I replaced the O2 sensor as I was getting a code for bad O2
sensor. After disconnecting battery to reset computer, then all
trouble codes were cleared.  I am getting a "service engine" light for
the first couple of minutes of operation...seems to be until the eng
S70 TDI injector pump troubles31 Oct 2007 21:18 GMT4
My 1997 S70 TDI starts with way too much (grey) smoke. My mechanic is
pretty sure that my distributor pump (VP37) is broken and he tells me
the probleem will get much worse. If it's just the springs that are
broken it will cost me 550 euro's ($770), but the repair can cost upto
Paint your car for 50 bucks31 Oct 2007 14:03 GMT2
I came across this website while goofing around and decided to try it
on my 240: http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html
My wife said its the only way the 240 would ever get painted. :)
Well, 2 months later the saga has ended and the 240 is painted. Here's
True AWD vs. Traction Control >Subaru and Volvo31 Oct 2007 02:34 GMT15
Went to a Subaru dealer.
They said Subaru uses true AWD - which means it is always on ready to
give power to any wheels.
Volvo is a traction control system - that disengages at 60 km/h.
S80 Timing Belt30 Oct 2007 21:21 GMT5
My 2000 2.9L S80 is due for a new timing belt and I plan to replace it
myself. Is there anything special about this job I need to know? Any
special tools required? I've found sites that document changing the
timing belts on other Volvo models, but not the S80 and I have to
Under bonnet (hood)  engine light on a 960 ?30 Oct 2007 20:31 GMT4
It's a '95 960 - UK spec, low headlights.
There's supposed to be a bonnet light on this thing, but it's not
working and I can't see it anywhere!  There's a plunger switch on the
car just by the RHS of the radiator header tank, but no sign of a light
2001 S80 brake pedal28 Oct 2007 20:21 GMT3

Is this apt to be a bad brake booster or just a loose fitting?

00 V70 T5 Intake Air Temp27 Oct 2007 04:00 GMT2
Hi there !  my 2000 V70 T5 has codes P1111 and P1113 stored, I looked them
up and both point to the intake air temperature sensor.  I did some snooping
and found a sensor on the side of the MAF.  Is this the sensor that is
setting the code?  Can anyone tell me the correct ohm ...
2000 Volvo S80 battery problems26 Oct 2007 13:50 GMT6
I recently had the battery of my S80 replaced.  The car was dead one
day and after getting the new battery I thought everything was fine,
until about a week later the car was dead again.  Now this seems to
happen at least once a week, and the car has to be jump started.  Does

2008 Volvo XC90 3.2 AWD25 Oct 2007 16:21 GMT5
We are very interested in purchasing a 2008 Volvo XC90 3.2 AWD model.
However, we are really concerned about the numerous reliability (or
lack thereof) reports we have seen on Edmunds Townhalls.
What is the general consensus on this car? Is it supposed to be more
95 or 98 RON fuel ?25 Oct 2007 13:02 GMT10
Pardon my complete ignorance but reading the manual of my V70 ym2005 it
appears that 98 octane fuel can be used in the 2.5T engine without any
special modification. On my old Opel, there was a little switch
somewhere in the engine that needed to be in the correct position for
2005 S40 windshield fogging up24 Oct 2007 23:31 GMT1
Strange thing; this started first time this fall (Pacific Northwest).
Only the RIGHT half of the windshield fogs up, along with part of the
front passenger door window. Settings exactly the same for both sides
of the car, 19C (Canauckistan, therefore Celcius).
