Break replacing on XC9016 Nov 2007 01:45 GMT10
Hello all, I have 5% left on my pads and need to replace them. I have
been quoted at $1100 with parts and labour and found that to be
expensive... The parts are original Volvo so I'm sure that adds a
premium, does anyone have experience or opinions about non OEM
Volvo 460 does not start when raining16 Nov 2007 00:51 GMT1
The car is a 460, 2.0 liter automatic, first registered in July 1996. Only
about 140.000 kms. About a month ago, the wife drove into a large pool of
water on the road and the car died. Since then, we've had various
difficulties, but only in or after a heavy rain!

if i take the small plastic cap off the top of my s80 front suspension
rod/nut under the bonnet, there is some slight play on the rod  if i

to tighten the lower cross shaped nut beneath , but it all seems tight
1998 S70 coolant sensor13 Nov 2007 16:26 GMT3
I cleaned my expansion tank after replacing the radiator and now have
a defective coolant sensor.
Apparently, these are sold seperately and installed on the expansion
tank -- not as part of a new tank.
S70 ABS module defeat?12 Nov 2007 14:17 GMT7
I've had that faulty PC board problem with my 98 S70 for a while.
Is there any way I can simply defeat the ABS module by undoing aor
taking out a fuse or something rather than the constant switching back
and forth.

103,000 miles, engine has developed a "surge" while accelerating.  Sometimes
it will go nice and smooth, others it will speed up, die-off, speed up
repeatedly while accelerating.  New plugs about 12,000 miles ago, injector
cleaner "Sea Foam" through the fuel tank about 5 fill-ups ...
CDV (Clutch Delay Valve) on 2008 335i's?11 Nov 2007 16:36 GMT2
Do the 2008 models (335i specifically) have the clutch delay valve?  If so,
is it same restriction to fluid flow as the one on the previous E90 models,
i.e., 325, 330?
Wondering if they changed/eliminated it due to the increased
Low Pressure On Wiper Fluid? 1990 74010 Nov 2007 04:55 GMT2
Hey All~
I've got a 1990 740 Wagon with very low pressure on the wiper fluid.
What happened several months ago is that no fluid was coming out.
Checked jets and they were plugged. Unfortunately broke one when
Question on reading O2 sensor....10 Nov 2007 03:45 GMT2
I emailed about this before....my 92 740 turbo wagon is only getting
16 mpg after changing the O2 sensor.   Thats' what the car was getting
before I changed it. The M.A.F. sensor also died and was replaced
recently, without improvement in gas mileage..
wires in the tailgate hinge09 Nov 2007 21:29 GMT2
car: 1989 240 wagon
I'm getting intermittant operation of the center brake light, and it seems
to be caused by the wiring passing thru the hinge... how difficult is it to
replace the cables? Looks like I need to remove or at least drop the ceiling
Best recent Volvo wagon quality09 Nov 2007 14:27 GMT6
We have had 140, and 240 Volvo wagons. We now have an 850 and a 2000 V70
wagon.
Our question is, have they gotten better or worse in their quality of
construction since 2000 and if so
V50 - ipod connectivity.08 Nov 2007 22:35 GMT7
I notice that on the new Volvo V50 there is an option to add in an adapter
to make an ipod compatible with the head unit in the car. This adapter gives
ipod control via the head unit controls.
The dealer tells me that this option is about £380.  Which is a lot of cash
Help - I feel like such a pillock!08 Nov 2007 03:11 GMT3
Ok, perhaps not quite so dramatic as that but...
I've got my lovely C70 (06 plate) and realised on Sunday that I need
to change the clock cos it's an hour fast.
Can I find out how to do it, can I buggery!
Volvo 240 starting probs07 Nov 2007 04:07 GMT6
I have a 92 240 wagon that is a beast to start when it's wet out. I've
replaced cap, plugs, coil, rotor & wires, & still have a weak spark
(dim, small & orange) is the next step an new (or new to me) ECU?

volvo interior plastic07 Nov 2007 04:06 GMT6
I've got an 86  760 volvo, does anyone know what type of plastic the
interior mouldings are composed of.  I've got to do some repairs and am not
sure what resins will bind to the interior plastics.    Cheers...George
