Good grief, just how tight can you get the oil filter cup screwed onto
its mounting base?  Got the 2004 XC90 serviced for the 60K mile mark a
few months back.  It is ready for an oil change and getting that oil
filter cup off is just not happening.  

I changed the engine oil. The new oil is: Castrol gtx 15w40 High Mileage
oil.
Someone said to me that it´s not wise to use that kind of oil, because the
"seal conditioner"  in the oil will ruin all the (new) seals. (at this

How hard is it to change the timing belt on a 1990 Volvo 740GL?  I
know where the cover is and the two bolts holding the cover on but
everything is just soooooo tight.  It seems that all the other parts
with belts at right up against the timing belt cover.

I am looking at a high mileage (~225k miles) 1990 740 sedan w/ the auto gear
box.  I am wondering what I should look for.  The body is in good shape for
the age, but that's not everything.  I am not familiar at all with Volvos so
any information you could offer would be great.  ...

I am looking to get a 1993 940t replacement core
motor shipped to me in colorado....My 93' 940t has
over 270,000 miles on it and is smoking bad...it needs
rings, pistons, seals, etc.....I am thinkin' a core w < 100k

Ik have to add a little power steering oil. The power steering is ok, but
the fluid level is a little too low. Can I put some ATF-F (same as the oil
for the "manual mainshaft") in the fluid reservoir?

Hi I have a Volvo 940 (1991 turbo model)
It starts first time every time but today it seems to have lost a lot
of power. The turbo kicks in but seem to stutter (best way I can
explain it)

hello i have a volvo v40 19 td 1999 car runs and starts fine but it
has ganed a ticking sound on the engine what could this be ?

Have a 1997 v40 cd auto
when engine is warm it will not start without pressing the throttle
and then leaving it running fast without engaging drive, then after a
few moments it settles to a steady tickover.
