740 Turbo Sedan stalling out13 Nov 2008 17:21 GMT8
Hi! Yes, I STILL have my 1989 740 Turbo sedan. The main hurdle has
been the overdrive relay and solenoid. That darn up-arrow still kicks
on every now and then, but I have a much more pressing issue this
time. Darn thing cuts off and I have to throw it in Park and restart
95 850GLT threatening stall13 Nov 2008 17:06 GMT3
My 1995 850GLT w/ about 220K did something weird last night: shortly
after pulling away from a red light (and with the engine warm) the
throttle started acting weird: the car would idle fine but if I gave
it any gas it would bog down and threaten to stall (engine coughing
2001 S40 1.9 engine vibration13 Nov 2008 13:47 GMT2
I have an '01 S40 (1.9T engine) with 142K that has an engine vibration at
idle that is most evident when it's in gear.  It can be felt through the
pedal, shifter and steering wheel.
All the mounts were replaced 25K miles ago so it isn't that.  I've been to

I now have an '02 V70 wagon which came with just one key and one keyless
remote. My mechanic gave me a 2nd keyless remote but told me that the dealer
would have to program it (actually program the car for it). I recently had
to go to the dealer to get the leaking fuel pump ...

Maximum Age/Mileage Question on 240 series10 Nov 2008 17:53 GMT3
I've begun looking for another 240 (it has been over a year since I
gave up restoring my 264 due to extreme frame corrosion). Considering
the life expectancy of those motors, what is too old in mileage? I
found a 245 (1981) nearby and the seller is asking $400, it has almost

Windshield Defogger Malfunction: 2007 S-6008 Nov 2008 01:33 GMT1
I've had my 2007 S-60 for about a year now. With the cool autumn
weather, I need my windshield defogger from time to time. It must have
worked well last year because I didn't notice any problems with it but
this year, it blows cold air and doesn't clear the fog on the inside
960 front suspension bushes07 Nov 2008 04:46 GMT5
My '95 960 (2.5 l straight 6) has just failed its annual MOT
inspection for front suspension rubber bush wear on the lower arm.
Anyone fixed these before? I've never had to work on the 960
suspension before.
J.Sweet: question on  92 Volvo 74005 Nov 2008 17:50 GMT1
Re: the water temp gauge issue:   You were right. The gauge on my
740 turbo is just designed to stay at mid-scale as long as there is
not a problem with temp. I disabled the fan, and let it heat up above
normal a bit, checkng carefully with an IR temp gun. Sure enough when
