My wife's frustrating Volvo problems continue.  Jeez this thing seems to
be a lemon in sharp contrast to my 1990 240 and her previous 1990 240

About a year ago my '92 960 started  a wierd deal.  It would die while
driving but then restart after 10 or 20 attempts, then run fine.  This
would happen infrequently, maybe once a month or sometimes several
times a day.

In October the shop (Volvo shop but not a dealer) picked up a "ECM 91A7
Throttle unit, internal fault, faulty signal" in their diagnostic run and
quoted $875 Cdn for the unit.

I have a 90 240 and a 93 240.  Both are auto and base model, not DL or
anything else.
In trying to solve my temperature gauge probelm, can I switch parts
between the two?  I was thinking to switch the fan clutch from my 93

I have a manual (stick-shift) gearbox. When selecting reverse, the
reverse light at the tail of the car only comes on if I pull back hard
