My 71 bus is giving me some weird brake problems. When I first start the bus and hit the brakes for the first time, the pedal resistance is light and stopping is excellent... similar to modern power brakes. After this first press of the pedal, the pedal comes up a little slow,

lately, I realized that there are delector plates only on top of the 3rd & 4th cylinders whereas there is none found over on the 1st & 2nd ones. Mine is a '74 Super Beetle 1600 Dual port. Could anyone help explain why it is only necessary to have air deflector

Before trying to remove the drum brake nuts I pour some oil for rusty nuts and I read in the spray that it contains normal oil plus a compound called MoS2 (Molybdenum sulfide I believe). Does anyone know what exactly does this compound do? I mean chemistrywise.

OK, there are 5 wires coming off the Sapphire XV that came in the parts car I bought. The speaker wires appear to be together (like twin lead), the ground is attached to a bolt on the chassis of the radio, there is a fused black lead (I assume +12V) and a blue lead ...

So I bought some "original" hubcaps (pre-66) on ebay but I'm not sure they're original. I've seen some of the repros, some are decent and some are really bad. Anyone know how to determine if they are original vw before I pay to have them rechromed? I know they weigh

Can someone help me Id an engine? right now is in a SB, but, it doesn't belong there (acording to the chassis #). the engine number is AD752792. Which bug does it belong to?
