| best ghia parts source? | 24 Dec 2003 01:57 GMT | 2 |
I am ready to buy the heater channels / rocker panels for my 66 karmann ghia. I also will need some fender parts, quarter panel, and floor pan parts. What is the best source for these? I'd rather pay more for quality parts.

I installed the engine on the 61 bug (engine is 1600 from a late sixties bus or type 3). I ran out of time for starting it, but I noticed that if the oil cap was on, oil came rushing out of the breather and spewed over the right side tinware. I had not connected the hose from the

| speedometer problem | 23 Dec 2003 01:30 GMT | 7 |
I was driving about 65mph on the highway tonight when my speedometer went crazy. It started whining, sorta like a cross between shining and rubbing/scraping sound. It jumped randomly but somewhat smoothly from about 60 to about 85. It seemed to correct itself when I stopped at a ...

| Is this likely a starter problem? | 22 Dec 2003 22:49 GMT | 8 |
My starter recently went from starting my 77 Type 2 quickly (though with occasional stuttering hesitation) to cranking a few times before it catches. Since that time the bus occasionally refuses to start altogether. When I bought it in Canada last April, it cranked

this is NOT my car, and I only met seller once. car is near where I live. I believe it to be 'overpriced' or possibly 'vastly overpriced' and in 'rough' shape, but maybe you don't agree, don't care, or I could be wrong, or even _very_ wrong. my observations:

| Seeking advice - Starting up my hibernating Bug. | 22 Dec 2003 19:52 GMT | 9 |
I used to love this group when I had my 1962 Bug as a daily driver in the 1990's. I had to switch to a newer & safer used car after having kids and also longer commute. I stored my Bug at my parent's farm in 2000 with the plan on restoring it, or at least a partial restore. Well

Does anyone know if and where I could buy a complete set of window seals for a 77 Transporter? I have to replace them all and would prefer to find a "package price" if one exists. On that same note, I've got rust around the frames on almost all the windows and any helpful advice ...

I just had a top end overhaul done on the 1600 in my '66 Beetle. At around 60-65 mph, the oil light comes on. Should I switch to a higher viscosity oil, is the pump going, is it a short in the wiring, or is it something else? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
