| Engine - Tranny Questions | 20 Dec 2003 20:56 GMT | 4 |
As some of you remember (it was one of the longest threads I've seen in a while) I've been asking about recomendations on a new Engine. The engine builder some of you recommended, after hearing what I needed said I should build a 2110cc, 40 x 35 heads, full flow, E110 Cam, solid ...

| Muir detrimental? | 20 Dec 2003 19:19 GMT | 17 |
Hey heres one for y'all, In one of Mr. Hoovers articles I saw where he said and I'm paraphrasing, "some of muirs suggestions aren't helpful and some may be detrimental". What would these be? I always went by the Muir book, not because I'm some kind of hippie zealot, but ...

A few questions on tailpipes:- My tailpipe on my '71 bus fell and was dragging along the tarmac for 20-30 miles one evening before anyone told me. I was only a mile from my house by this time, so after stopping and looking, we decided that there was

| headliner doubt | 20 Dec 2003 17:00 GMT | 2 |
I've seen recently in magazines some bugs having a different headliner I've never seen before, instead of going all the way down in the back side till the sides of the windows, this one covers only the upper part, and doesn't go down like the "normal" one, take a look:

Hi RAMVA, I got to get a new battery. having seen too many rusted package trays, I've been wondering, if I use a sealed or gel battery, will it prolong the life of the package tray? It has rust preventive paint, but, who knows if it's going to work until the time comes. What's the ...

| Performance engine sugestions | 20 Dec 2003 11:03 GMT | 78 |
I'm now trying to design an engine to replace the stock on the 73 SB, and I have some questions. Can I go to 1776 without machining? Will I benefit from 1.25/1.4 ratio rocker arms? Sould I get new/different cam? What about a lightened flywheel, do I need it below 120HP?

I am contemplating redoing the interior on my 56 oval sedan. Car is bone stock and I am going with TMI due to cost (it is close enough to period appropriate smooth side door panels in solid red). Just how difficult is it to redo the seats and door panels. Is it something a novice ...

| Ignition Noise Picked Up by Radio | 19 Dec 2003 15:31 GMT | 43 |
I just finshed restoring a '74 Super Beetle Cabrio and just installed a Radio w/CD Changer. The radio somehow picks up the ignition noise in the background, that sounds static and cracking type, when the engine is running. As soon as the

This cooling flap issue has been discussed at length in this group but I wanted to post an additional discussion and question. I have just completed building a VW Trike. The engine is totally exposed in this vehicle, unlike a bug or ghia. I purchased the engine from a builder
