| neat website | 31 Jul 2005 18:16 GMT | 1 |
I found this on another forum. It's a website with lots of surplux car parts. The only catch is you have to buy unbelievable quantities. They do list aircooled VWs and some of the prices are pretty good, if you buy hundreds of some of the parts! http://surplusparts.com/

| Engine running hot? - Need advice | 30 Jul 2005 18:34 GMT | 17 |
The engine in my '73 Super seems to be running hot. When I pull into the garage I can smell the engine. Also, I can hold the dipstick for 2 or 3 seconds before it starts to burn. I drive it to work a few days a week which requires 20 miles of highway (I do 65mph tops)and always

| New '79 Superbeetle. Gas smell/low idle. | 30 Jul 2005 16:34 GMT | 6 |
Hi, all. I recently got (as a gift -- pesky wife!) a super-duper cool '79 Superbeetle. I'm really psyched, but there are a few things that need attention. While I could take a stab at it, I figured I'd ask the pros on here, first, before getting up to my elbows in grease:

| IRS/Swing axle questions | 30 Jul 2005 07:04 GMT | 2 |
I am new to the vw thing and am considering building a custom dune buggy. Someone gave me a swing axle transmission, however I would like to build the new buggy with an IRS suspension. Is there anyway to convert the swing axle transmission in to a IRS style transmission?

| Useful Tools | 29 Jul 2005 14:21 GMT | 2 |
I thought I'd shoot some pictures of tools I made along the way that help me work on my VW's. Some of them are VW specific, some are not. I may slip in a link or a photo of store-bought items as well, or just plans for building a tool.

| Westy Pop Top Canvas Question | 29 Jul 2005 08:22 GMT | 1 |
I have a 68' Westy. The previous owner put a new canvas on and in my opinion did a crappy job. The canvas is not centered on the top and does not appear to be attached very well to the top of the vehicle. I can easily see how the top of the canvas is attached with staples to

| Upper Shock Mount Stipped | 27 Jul 2005 21:29 GMT | 6 |
I stripped the upper shock mount on my 76 bus. (Pretty new to this stuff.) There is no bolt on the backside and very little space behind it, not enough to run a nut behind it. Does anyone have any ideas? A source for a metric tap that will work? Thanks for the help.
