Well, I finally got the oil filler and nut off of my '74 Beetle. It was leaking a little oil and of course, was very difficult to get off. I grinded off the tin and then used a pipe wrench and vice-grip to get the nut off. Actually, the nut broke but that's okay.

Due to replace both axle boots on the 74 bug. Haynes says split is to be at rear, current torn one is up. Muir says either. Apart from not facing down, is there any particular preference ? James

I'm getting a little bit of white smoke out of the right exhaust, and it's starting to smell a little rich so I figure the mixture is off. Can anyone tell me which adjustment screws do what on my Italian made Weber 34 ICT carbs?

The vent wing locks on my '68 are broke and the previous owner rigged up some crap to hold the windows shut. I have new locks, but not sure how to get the old one's off and the new one's on.

How much total, parts and labor, would it cost me to take my '73 STD VW Beetle to a shop and have the main wiring harness replaced? It would cost me btween $106.00 US to $152.00 US plus about $9.00 US for shipping just for the main harness.

need to find where i can find shock tower top mount ie the section that the top of the shock slides through before fastening down. also need to know if anyone knows how to take a body off with out much cost and less then 4 people.
