I brought my '74 Super Beetle to the VW shop and had new points
installed, valves,  timing, idle and mixture adjusted. The mechanic
showed me that my distributor was advancing the spark 43 degrees at
maximum rpm.  He told me that for my dual vacuum 1600 engine the maximum

My Beetle (12V, gen) started burning headlight bulbs. Does someone
remember, what was the max voltage for regulated charging voltage?

Hoping yall can help me out.
The cooling fan slipped and was running off center. Not sure why yet, I

Last nite the directionals went out , the double arrow just glowed and
it also started to glow when I put the brakes on.
Now , being a '69 Ghia, they are separate circuits. what's happening?

I finally got some time to work on my 68 Autosick bug and am trying to
install the Master Cyliner.  I just got new 3 Plug Stop Light Switches
but my problem is hooking up the top connector.  On my old Master
Cylinder it has a rubber piece that the plastic piece on the rod goes

I haven't had the bug out on the road for about two months now.  It's
been sitting b/c I'm trying to sell it.  So my brother calls me and
says he's thinking about buying it.  Well, this means I need to run a
tune up, and drive it around to lubricate everything.

I see oil that has dried up (cooked?) and turned
to grease inside my case.  I hope this is only

I have a '72 standard Beetle. In my quest to get EVERYTHING functioning
properly in this car I am down to one last small item. and it is driving me
nuts.
How is the brake warning light suppose to work? Other than the obvious

can't seem to get the steering wheel off. the nut is removed and i've tapped
up on it with a rubber mallet. it seems to be stuck on there. any tips?

Finally decided to totally rehaul my stock 1600. Reasons? 76km, oil
leaking and poor compression in 3 cilinders....
I have it all in pieces on my table, and now cleaning everything and
measuring, looking for cracks, scratches, etc....discovered a broken

A couple of weeks ago I had some problems with my gen light. It stayed
on after starting and the belt was ok. With Jim's help I found the
generator was not polarized, so, I did the procedure acording to Speedy

HAD A GROUND UP RESTORATION AND NO RUST WITH ONLY 10 MILES ON THE NEW
ENGINE. I AM WILLING TO SELL IT FOR $5 - I LIVE IN f.cking FINLAND
