when I pulled the engine, I found red silicone on all pushrod tube o-rings. Red silicone between barrels and the case. Is this standard procedure on these engines? 1700cc

I have been doing - slowly - a body of resto on my 1303. A note to newbies I read and watched lots of how to's and the bug me video's etc. Take them as a guide - not gospel !!!!!

Hi RAMVA! Yesterday something really sad happened, someone broke into the 70 bug and tried to steal the stereo. It was secured to the body with a metal bracket and bolts, so they couldn't take it. But the damage to the dash is huge.

so after i knock most of the rust and junk out of the gas tank with rocks for something so i dont spark anything up, it is ok to use water to flush out the rest? or will that just make the rust worst in time? and also would it help to clean up the carb, after all the but was sitting ...

Hey folks! long time no see.....lol got a little issue with my 71 vert with a 1600 stock motor. trying to time the 009 at 28-32 degrees but it is jumping around some...don't remember it doing that before...is this some what normal? it seems to vary 3-4 degrees

on the old heads, there are 3 thin metal gaskets or shims between cylinder barrels and the head. I pulled these out of the old heads.
