I've been using a lead additive for a while and it's been fine but I'm wondering if it's possible to put too m uch lead into your fuel tank? Could this hurt my '68 bug? -Steve

I just started the teardown on a 1974 Super Beetle I'm trying to get running again. I pulled the carpets up and the floor is rusted all the way through so I can see the ground in some places. My question for you guys is what is involved in replace the pans? Do I need

Can anyone out there tell me what my problem is? thought had some bad gas... ran it all out. fille it up and put in some chevron techron fuel system cleaner. result: not jerking so much in 1-3 gear but jerks real bad in 4th gear... feels like it's going to lose the engine.

on my car not starting. I found the problem today. Just looking from not too close all looked OK but upon closer inspection I found that the main wire to the light switch was disconnected.. Now she'll crank but still not start. My fuel line was plugged wehen I began this exercise ...

After close to a year without my bug, it's been in the garage. I put in a new pan,front end,disc brakes,tranaxle all seals,new mastercylinder . In other words I rebuilt my car. It is a 67 pan with a chopped 66 body and a 1776cc motor.

Just got back for seeing "the hills have eyes" theres a scene with 3 VW's a bay bus a type 181 thing (nice shape) and a beetle. The movie is worth seeing if you like gore and has a fair plot. Mario

I have a Super Beetle that I'm not sure what year it is. There is no registration and inside the drivers side door the sticker says: Manufactured by Volkswagenmerk AG 12/73 Would this be a 1973 or 1974 bug?
