I am thinking of putting a new cam and bearings in my 1600 vw engine. i
am a noob at vw engines and was wondering if i could split a case
change a few things like the cam and bearins, etc, and put it back
together with little or no problems. i don't want to spend a lot of

swaps? Nobody here believes me that the record is around 2 mins. I

I have a 1970 Australian Bug and wanted to put some VW seats in it so
that I can order the original style upholstery.  I do not want the low
back seats that were originally in my car though.  Does anybody know if
any of the high back seat models will slide onto the same tracks?

Just wanted to introduce myself (I've been lurking here for about a month)
as I have a feeling I will be here alot in the future! I just bought a '73
and a '74 Super Beetle to restore. The seller sold them as a '73 to restore
and '74 for parts, but I think I'm going to go for broke ...

Today I finally finished the brakes on my '73.
New shoes, hoses, cillinders and rear shocks too.
Started last saterday and of course something(s) had to go wrong!

Hi gang!
Anyone know of a good source to get parts of the wiring harness for a
'73 VW Thing? I was changing the speedomter and mis-connected the fuel
gauge sensor wire and it got fried! Totally smoked up! Anyway, does

Going through a few catalogs and I noticed that I don't have the
following cooling tin parts on my stock 1600 DP (carb).  I'm a little
confused, as various outlets list a "complete stock cooling tin kit"
which don't seem to include these parts.

I have a 1999 (V reg) Sharan 2.0 petrol. The indicators, reversing
lights, radio, heated rear windows, central locking have all stopped
working. I have checked all the fuses in the box under the drivers side

    On my long drive I took to consume some fuel (see other posting
today), I notice that the front /steering wheel start to shimmy between
40 & 45 MPH. After I reach 50 things settle down again. I don't believe
