If anyone has a new, used (and working), or rebuilt steering box for
1971 VW T2 1600DP..  I would like to buy it.

We have a Passat GL 1991 2 liter with an automatic transmission.
It doesn't switch gears by itself.
If we put it on first gear, it will stay there.
If we put it in second stay there from start, mean it will not run in first

Yesterday i fitted a fiberglass glove box where i dremeled a radio in.
It all was a tight and snug fit, however, the metal strap that keeps the
original box in place is too short to secure the new one. I installed it
temp with an electrical wire am not pleased with it.

Ideally I would like to use a old tranny bell housing and starter
allowing the engine to be started on the stand.

I bought oversize hinge pins in an effort to reduce door sag and have had
quite the problem removing the old ones, been there I guess since '67. Anyone
have a new, innovative way to remove the old ones? VW had a special tool for
the job but I only have a large hammer and ...

I have a '66 daily driver that has been running beautifully all year.
I pulled in the garage last night, everything was fine and this
morning it wouldn't start.  I have headlights and dash light and I
think I hear the ignition switch clicking.  That's it.  I hear nothing

Picked the little dude up today. Mechanically tight (new engine, trans
mounts, tons of new parts) and runs great. Handles like a go-kart. I got
lucky with this one as it has what looks to be the original paint, no

this guy was going to scrap a '71 Van , so he gave it to me and since it
was so wrecked, I cut the back off and made a might fine pickup.
moved the air scoops down to the lower section. for air. Too cool./

After suffering a slight overheat on my nearside front caliper, the RAC guy
who came out managed to twist the piston in the bore and it is now seized
beyond use / repair.
Has anyone got a nearside caliper solid disc etc for a 1981 camper?

I just got back from the Pedmont show in Greensboro NC and kelly brown(
met wiz )was showing his dumb a$$ about 2 min after I was there.
