I everyone,
I'm still working on my 1982 aircooled Vanagon with the same problem:
It's runnig so rich that it carbonize the plugs and, after several
minutes of running, looses most of it's power.

Ok, did a dumb thing. I was replacing the fuel vent lines on my 72 Super
and I leaned in - only to break off the threaded piece on the air filler
tube for my original windshield washers. Doesn't look replacable, where to
find a new/good one (mine was pristine).

I am going to borrow a Supper Beetle tow bar to tow a super I am
picking up.  I read somewhere that soemtimes you have to drill holes
for the mounting plate and sometimes the wholes were already their.
About what percent of the time were the holes their?  This is a 72

I am having trouble getting the tail pipes to release from the silencer
of the exhaust system.  I ran into this problem years ago and
remembered that it was very challenging then.  Only the tail pipes need

Ok guys and girls, I have asked a lot of questions as I am not a mechanic
(no sh.t under your breath you say) but I am looking to get hp out of my
engine and car rebuild. Also  I' am real cheap.Looking for 60 to 80 hp.
Number one is a header system 10 hp

I stripped down my seats to the metal frames. I was going to get them powder
coated. However, I noticed that a couple of wires were broken. Now I guess I
could go an find junk yard replacements. But I would first like to explore
fixing what I have. Only problem is I can find any ...

Going to post a pic of the rim later.  This came off a bug I am going
to go back and get.  I'd like to get 3 or 4 more of them and use them
on my Super Beetle.  That is if they still make them or if I can find
them on another car.

Does any one know what the green button is for that has a coil looking
