I have detected a fuel leak in the braided hose in my engine compartment
(between the carb and fuel pump). Do I have to replace the line with the
braided stuff or can I use other material? As well, how necessary is the
filter between the pump and the carb? I can't seem to find a ...

So there I was watching the miniseries, "Oliver's Travels", thinking how
nice the yellow T3 was which the main characters were driving around
England with...when out of the blue, literally, it gets shot and blown up.

Not 2 hours after reading Bob Hoover's blog about vw's and their fire

Does anybody know if the GL4/GL5 gear lube have the corrosive agents
that destroy the transmission syncronizers?  I have never been able to

I've been looking around this group and the web for information
regarding interior colors for my '71 Standard Beetle. I'm going to
restore the interior but there's a few different colors in there now so
I'm not sure what the original color was.

she paid a little bit more then i would have, but all in all i would
say it is in decent shape ... has a leak in the gas tank .. already
have it out to patch up .. and owner said the fuel pump was bad  so
going ahead and putting another one on (already had one on the shelf)

I have a 73 bug.  I replaced the master cylinder and wheel cylinders.  I
have gone through a quart of brake fluid trying to bleed the air out.  I
am using a mighty mac pump to suck the lines.  Is this just a slow
process?  Will eventually all the air be removed.  Am I missing ...
