as you know I am stripping an engine.
Are there any sites I can reference part numbers..

I can not get my rail buggy to go into 1st or 3rd gear with out it
grinding and the shift rod moving forward. This is a 5 rib tranny sedan
trany I was told. gear pattern is

That is, remove the air-cooled internal combustion engine and replace with
an electric drive motor, battery pack, charger, and associated controls.

Most of you have seen this subject before but please humor me!
I am also desperately looking for type 1 and type 4 engine drawings, in
any format. (PDF, Dwg, DXF, Acis or Para solids).

I just drove a 74 ghia that has been setting in a local junk yard for
the last 15 years but last registered in 87. It seems to be all
original including the thin white wall ply tires. After washing the
body it looks better then most unrestored ghias I've seen. does have

I got 2 thermostats, and to my surprise they have different specs one
is 65-75 and second one something around ~80 can't quite recall.  Which
one is the right one for type 1.  I am in Nor cal, it does get toasty
here around 110 for a few weeks or a month a year, never snows but we

My "new" 71 super has a filthy engine. It has a layer of sooty grease
all over it. I see all these show VW's with clean engines so I figure

Hello hello.  I'm still kicking around in my recently aquired '74
cal-style Std Beetle.  It's running great and all I've done is change
the oil and fiddle with the interior.  There's a few things that still
need some work however...

I am in the process of fixing up a '68 bus.
I thought I read somwhere a few months ago that the insulation around the
heater pipe (underneath bus) is wrapped in Asbestos.
Is that true?
