Rear Wheel Bearing Frustration30 Oct 2007 22:20 GMT4

Are there some suppliers to avoid?

Up and running at last29 Oct 2007 23:18 GMT4
Well, I finally had to throw in the towel and go to a professional VW
mechanic. I had simply done all I could. But I informed him all I did,
and he was able to take it from there and have it fixed in less than a
half hour. Since I had verified there were no fuel problems, and then

Recovered from the cemetery ride?

Starter...29 Oct 2007 18:09 GMT7
OK, I I think have to replace my solonoid....(very intermittant no-crank
situation - turn key to start, idiot lights dim *slightly*). I replaced the
ignition switch a couple years ago, no change. Mind you, this only happens
extremely infrequently (like once a year?). So I suspect ...

it would idle when I plugged the vacuum line to the servo.
How do you check for leaks in the servo?
Gnats Bugging My Yellow Beetle - Help Please!28 Oct 2007 00:49 GMT6
Almost every night before the sun goes down, a small plague of insects
gather on my 1973 lunar yellow Beetle and leave orange speckled
deposits. That's right! Tiny little orange brown spots.
I was thinking that they were attracted to the sweet smelling carnuba

transaxle, and from the shifter, it feels as if one can shift through
all the gears BUT she stays in gear whatever I do or say.  I was deep
in the woods (she's a Baja conversion) when I thought I had broken the
