I hope someone can help me with a very simple problem on my '69 1200
type 1. I have had the car off the road for some time and only recenty
started getting into the nitty gritty of getting the old girl back on

Hi again!!
Next problem is the generator to alternator conversion. I have
refurbished a 1600cc D engine and am getting this ready to put into
the '69 1200. Scratching my head about the electrics though. The 1200

Well, I took my motor out of the box, cleaned and oiled it. Lasted about a
month, now it makes that high-pitched squealing noise again.
Stopped in at the local Bug shop - they say there is no replacement for it
- would have to salvage.

Ok, I got the vents and fresh air box installed back in my 72SB. I realize
now there should be some tube that spans from the box to the vents - who
carries them?

In my previous post on Nov 11th, I was wondering what caused it to make a
grinding noise...
I removed it, checked for metal shavings and reinstalled it... still the
