Hello Again.
I just came back from Auto Zone auto parts.
The parts man there said I should try applying Permatex black rtv
sealant to the cracks in my cv boots and let them dry 24 hours.

A Simpler Bowden Tube adjust.18 Jun 2008 03:21 GMT2
I cut washer(s) into a "C" shape and just slip them onto the tube
just before the bracket, to get that "sag".
Try it ! you'll like it.
Ignition Coil overheats?17 Jun 2008 10:18 GMT2
Is it possible for the ignition coil to overheat?  I was driving the other
day in a relatively warm temp.  I stopped for gas and couldn't start
afterwards.  When I tried about a 1/2 hr later, it started right up like
nothing happened.

New Hill O' Doom = FAIL16 Jun 2008 00:55 GMT2
I think my daughter may have captured some of our outing on her
camera.  Stay tuned for updates.  Ran into a BIG hill that I knew was
back there and tonight the outcome was BIG FAIL.  But that's
temporary, just like the last Hill O' Doom.  I was on street tires
by-pass oil filters15 Jun 2008 13:40 GMT6
Some of you know I use Franz by-pass filters on my vw's and some other
vehicles.  They were popular in the 70's and late 60's with adapter
hardware for vw engines.  They do super job of filtering and use
toilet paper for filters so the price is right on using them.  Anyway
looong term ACVW storage12 Jun 2008 13:02 GMT4
Beginning this December I'm going to be storing my 73 Karmann Ghia for the
next four to six years. I've asked around a bit and done some online
research and I'm getting some conflicting information.
I've heard the draining the fuel is good
grinding on turning12 Jun 2008 01:52 GMT10
When I turn the steering wheel on my '65 Karmann Ghia too far (when
leaving a parking spot, for instance), I get a loud tapping/grinding
from the front end. Is this symptomatic of something, or normal? Other
than not turning the wheel too far, is there something I should do?
Semi W engine lid on 1961 (UK)11 Jun 2008 13:09 GMT4
Hi all, I have finally managed to get hold of a 1961 Beetle (UK).  I
am just checking the authenticity of body panels and notice that the
'Semi W' engine lid appears to be like a 1966 (with only part of the
top 'W' showing above the light) which I don't think is correct.
Oil light11 Jun 2008 09:26 GMT3
T3 oil light has never flickered once in the all the time I,ve had her. Gave
the engine a wash today to get all the oil off  ( annual registration checks
in Australia can be a "pain in a@#e" . Had one idiot count the rust spots on
the headlight reflectors). For an 1 hour ...
