| Tranny Input Shaft Seal Install Tool - Help Please! | 26 Aug 2008 04:31 GMT | 9 |
What kind of home made sleeve tool can I make that does not require welding to install the tranny input shaft seal? I was thinking of a flat washer just a little smaller diameter as the input shaft seal and a short piece of pvc pipe and a rubber mallet.

Known as the curviest street in the world, I took the newly fixed up 73 Super on a trip. My wife, kid and I were passing through on our way to Ocean Beach, and thought we'd take a little detour for fun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lombard_Street_(San_Francisco)

I,m just overhauling my spare 32-34 PDSIT,s. I dont want to reassemble with all dry bearing surfaces but thought mineral oil would probably evaporate in no time flat with all the petrol vapours around. What,s the consensus, use mineral oil, silicon oil ?, dust with molybdenum ?.

| stripped oil strainer stud | 24 Aug 2008 05:28 GMT | 5 |
On my 36 hp, stripped a stud on my oil strainer only to find out it was a 8mm x 6mm step stud. Looking at the 8mm timesaver insert, just doesn't seem to leave enough material between the edge of the insert and the lip of the oil strainer lip. I'd rather NOT use the timesaver
