Now I know how to get rid of the pristine 1972 Beetle! I'm gonna use it as a Cash for Clunkers to get another cheap-a.s vehicle that starts, runs year around in Minnesota, does not whine, break down out of nowhere. $4200 bucks! Why, thats about what I have into it!

they don't control anything... Al was right, even vw was wrong... Just noticed while scanning a factory owner's manual for a friend that VW described the engine as Air cooling by fan, thermostat controlled... odd...
