Hi group,
I have a 2001 Golf TDI with just over 80k miles.  I'm looking for a
reputable mechanic in or near the Thumb of Michigan to do the 80k tune
up.  'Local' dealer (starts withVly) wants over $1000 which seems like

Rear washer jet on my 2001 Polo hasn't worked for months.  The pump sounds
healthy when it's triggered, but absolutely zilch appears on the rear
windscreen.  Tried unblocking the jet outlet on the rear wiper-blade
arrangement, but to no avail.

Being a perfectionist, and the original owner of a 1985 Scirrocco, I
thought it might be a good time to replace my windshield. It's not too
bad, only a 6" crack at lower passenger corner and 19 years and 180K
miles of use. But, I thought I would do this while a new windshield is

i've a friend who owns a 2000 new beetle. recently, the driver's side low-
beam headlight went out. we replaced the bulb with an H1-55 bulb, and

Hi All, I'll keep this short. Tried the A/C on my 96 jetta gl 2 liter
the other day and the compressor did not come on.  Checked for the relay
at the fuse box, position #1, and its not there.  Is there supposed to
be a relay or not??  Thanks.

My 84 GTI 8V is leaking radiator water from the rear of the engine block. The
leak is not from a blown head gasket, but seems to be coming out of one of a
series of holes (indents?), about 4cm in diameter, below where the head joins

Evening all
I visited a friend in Gosport (Hampshire) this afternoon which allowed me to
clear the cobwebs out of my mk3 1.8GL on the M3 and M27, which i think did
it some good as i've only been doing short journeys of late. On my return up

The recommended tire pressure sticker in the door jamb says the 17"
wheels should have 33 psi in the fronts and 42 psi in the rears.  Is
this right?  I thought the heavier end got higher pressure.
