MK II GTI : Neuspeed Sofports with Bilstein HD's or Sports???31 May 2004 22:07 GMT4
How come no one knows the exact answer to this question? It's driving me
crazy trying to decide between the two.
I'm set on Neuspeed Sofsport's (0.5" drop), but don't know whether I should
get Bilstein HD's or Sports. HD's are not meant to be used with lowering
T25 gearbox31 May 2004 20:51 GMT1
My 1986 T25 Campervan 1.6 Td has a dodgy gearbox - can't find 3rd going down
from 4th, you have to double declutch (not a major problem, but my wife
isn't happy about it). Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of repair? (I
presume it's the synchro gone?) Would it be easier to just ...
Changing belts in 98 Passat turbo 1.8T31 May 2004 20:13 GMT2
I want to help my brother change the belts/idler/waterpump/etc in his
90 1.8T Passat. Problem is that I have never done that in such car.
Jettas, Mercedes, and even a Renault, yes (I was even going to add a RX7
to see if someone would catch it  ). But never a Passat. How hard ...
Jetta front suspension noise31 May 2004 16:40 GMT1
I have a 2002 Jetta TDI.  Last spring, when the weather warmed up enough
to open the windows, I heard a sharp squeak or chirp from the right
front wheel over certain road surfaces.  It happened when the car hit an
abrupt edge, even a small one like the edge of a pavement patch or a
1989 Golf - vacuum leak in a check valve?31 May 2004 15:40 GMT2
I've been reading through some of the previous posts which have
enabled me to trace a problem with the brake servo and rough running
on my '89 Golf. Thanks !
The clutch cable has worn through a blanking cap on a unused spare
82 Diesel Vanagon Clutch Problems31 May 2004 11:35 GMT1
The clutch in my diesel Westy has been giving me trouble.  It works
fine for the first 5 or 6 shifts but then slowly starts engaging lower
and lower to the floor until not at all.  If I let it sit for awhile
and drive it again it is the same process all over again.
Vacuum lines: 2L 16V31 May 2004 02:06 GMT1
Silly me...  I took large portions of the front end of my car apart and
didn't take any notes.  I have a 90 GLI (2L 16V CIS-E Motronic), there
are two vacuum lines coming out of the bottom of the boot in front of the
throttle body.  One appears to be routed back to the air box.  The ...
91 Jetta - Fresh Air Blower resistor assembly31 May 2004 02:06 GMT4
Subj: 1991 Jetta (Mexico) 1.8L gas RV-engine config.
One of the speed positions for the air conditioner/heater blower motor
doesn't work.  I'm guessing maybe the resistor divider network is bad or
loose, but where is it located on the firewall?  I know where the rotary
2002 Jetta 2.0 Burning Oil?31 May 2004 02:02 GMT14
My 2.0L '02 Jetta GLS with 23k miles seems to be down about a 1/2 quart of
oil (Mobil 1) for every 1000-2000 miles. There are no signs of leaks on the
garage floor, etc... Also I seem to be hearing a slight "ticking" noise from
the engine while it is idling... I think the ticking is ...
Did I burn/damage my clutch today31 May 2004 00:44 GMT11
I have a 2003 TDI with 30, 000 km. I don't know what I was thinking this
evening.  My wife was giving me a hard time in the car.  I was on a hill
stopped waiting to turn right.  I was in 2nd gear.  I should've been in 1st.
I wasn't moving so I added more gas and more gas.  The ...

1996 Golf ABS warning light30 May 2004 13:35 GMT4
Started up my car yesterday and the ABS warning light didnt go out. Checked
the handbook and everything they said seemed to be OK. Brakes still feel the
same , there is no increase in pedal travel and the fluid level is OK. Any
ideas or have i got to go and spend loads at the main ...
Passat rear disc replacement30 May 2004 09:49 GMT4
I decided it was time to replace the rear discs of my 1996 Passat after
almost 120,000 miles.
Looking at the Haynes manual it looked fairly straightforward.
I bought some new discs, and set about fitting them. All went well until I
Help! Eurovan balljoint fiasco30 May 2004 02:11 GMT2
I'm trying to replace the upper ball joint on my 93 Eurovan.
So far I've:
1) Released the torsion bar tension
2) Removed the lower nut and big brass hexagon thingy
99 Jetta GL Wiper Arm Needed29 May 2004 21:25 GMT2
I need a drivers side wiper arm for a 1999 Jetta GL (old body style).
Anyone have suggestions where to find one? I would like to avoid
paying what the dealer wants.
Some kid decided to go to town last night on my wipers, antenna, and
