I have a 2001 VW Jetta with a 2.0 liter engine. After the "check engine"
light came on, I took it to the local VW dealership here in Southern
California. They ran some diagnostics and told me that the ignition coil has
cracked and needs to be replaced.

The procedure in Haynes is to remove the centre consoles, then remove the

I have an '01 GOLF TDI with 166,000kms, mostly highway (really!).
Recently I have been experiencing a tremendous loss of power that only
occurs intermitantly.  For example, taking almost 1 km to get my speed
up to 100km/h., or, not being able to go faster than 120km/h on a flat

I know I could also post to the numerous Vanagon lists out there, but this
is faster, and hopefully someone will have some good advice.
I traveled several hours the other day to look at two.Vanagons. One, the
1987, has 227,000 miles on the engine. I did what I call a ":poor man's

I'm seeing less and less New Beetles on the road and at dealer showrooms. No
ads on TV either.  Is VW trying to discontinue them?

They are almost hanging off pointing in odd directions about 10mm from the
body work, is this bad? :) I was going round corner when front end started
vibrating, bloody country roads.

Well, the car went almost an entire year without any major problems, and I
was just about to post a progress report when this started up:
My AC is intermittent.  It blows cold for a few minutes, and then reverts
back to lukewarm air.  Sometimes it won't blow cold at all.  The "AC" ...

The front seats of my new Touareg V10 are only 48 cm wide, which is too
narrow (or I am too big ;-)  What would be a proper replacement?
Btw., Cayenne comfort seats are 51 cm and sport seats 53 cm.  Do they fit?
