Anyone own a 2003 Wolfsburg Jetta?12 May 2004 05:16 GMT6
I'm really thinking about purchasing a 2003 Wolfsburg Jetta. (5 spd)  I need
passing power, good suspension, and collision safety. (I'm on the road 1000
mi/ wk) Is this the car for me? Horror stories about electrical systems and
transmissions are holding me back.
computer Diagnostics12 May 2004 04:27 GMT2
92 passat 2.0 is running very much like the computer is not working (have
seen other vw's run like this, and that was the problem).  I am having
trouble determining if that is the issue.  Any help in searching this
problem out would be greatly appreciated.
Diesel Passat Wagon coming to U.S.?12 May 2004 03:49 GMT11
I just hear this morning on a local car show that Dallas, TX, VW
dealers now have the diesel Passat sedans in and are stickered only
200 over the gas model.
Does any on know if they will have the diesel in the Wagon?
junkyards online12 May 2004 00:05 GMT6
I saw the thread upstream about junkyards. There used to be a website you
could go to, emter in the info about your car, then you could browse photos
of recent vehicles from a network of junkyards so you could see if someone
might have the part you need. Is that thing still online, ...
Brake booster leak in 2000 Golf GLS 2.0L11 May 2004 22:45 GMT4
The break fluid has been disappearing without any sign of external leakage.
Took the car to a dealer and was told that the break booster is leaking and
needs to be replaced.
I was quoted $902 for the job by the dealer. The car is 300 miles out of
99 Passat 1.8 lifter noise11 May 2004 22:36 GMT9
I have a 99 Passat with one lifter that makes noise whenever the oil gets
more than 1000-1500 miles old. Not always, just most of the time, more when
warm then cold. It's a bigger problem when running lighter oils, like the
10-30 Mobil 1 I used to use, so I switched to 20-50 ...
Passat 1.9tdi electrics - again11 May 2004 20:55 GMT7
1986 (P) Passat 1.9Tdi Estate
Last autumn, when my onboard 'computer' zeroed itself a few times, it was
suggested that I probably needed a new battery. I got one from my local VW
stealership and that did the trick. No problems all winter. Until today,
A2 rear fender treatments?11 May 2004 20:08 GMT3
I've got surface rust on the edge of the rear wheel wells of my '89 Golf.
Isn't there an aftermarket "flare" that effectively covers this up?

Peter Parker Check Your Head11 May 2004 19:54 GMT15
Hey Peter
Everytime I see your name I laugh. You do nothing but argue from an
ignorant stand point. As I said before you offer no evidence for your
moronic and un-educated opinions. Anyone can blah blah blah in here.
play in steering wheel --mk2 88 Golf (gl?)11 May 2004 19:14 GMT5
I'm not sure if I'm being a golf-hypochondriac or not, but I've
noticed that I've got about 1.5 inches of rotation in my steering
wheel before the front wheels begin to move significantly.  It's got
some kind of super-sensitive power assist steering.  It was leaking
g60 high idle 11 May 2004 18:40 GMT8
I got a corrado g60 since a couple of weeks. Runs fine and all, only the
idle engine speed is too high. Most of the time it runs 1500 rpm, sometimes
even more.
So I try to fix it myself, before hiring expensive vw mechanics to do it for
95 WV bus with fuel problem11 May 2004 11:42 GMT1
I have a 1995 Volkswagen Caravelle (should be almost the same as transporter
and eurovan but it is not a diesel). Today when I started it there were some
problems, it coughed a little and made som strange noises but eventually it
started.

Golf Timing11 May 2004 07:51 GMT7
Got a 1300 Golf MkII from 1984 (contact breaker points, carb, pre-Aug
85 engine).
Basically the problem is that the engine just keeps trying to turn
over, and won't start - something which wasn't ever its strong point,
