Steering wheel scraping noise on '93 VR6?07 May 2004 21:45 GMT3
The steering wheel on my VR6 has started making a scraping noise when
it's turned. Closer investigation reveals that the problem is caused
by the horn contact on the steering column scraping against the
conductive ring on the back of the wheel.

I have a 1999 VW Polo 1.0L and even when the ignition is off with the
key out the dashboard instrument panel is still lit up, this drains
the battery very quickly. When I adjust the intensity of the light

Mk2 GTi occasional stalling when slowing down to stop07 May 2004 15:30 GMT2
When slowing down at junctions etc and I put the clutch in my Golf Mark 2
GTi sometimes stalls. It idles fine but when the clutch goes down the revs
fall below the normal idle speed. Usually it quickly recovers but sometimes
it stalls any ideas greatfully received.

Stuck Wipers!07 May 2004 05:03 GMT2
I have a 97 golf CL and my wipers are stuck! They take a good hour to do a

check goolge and I found that taking them off and applying greese can help
the situation. Took the passanger side off easily, then ...

'98 Passat stereo in SAFE mode07 May 2004 00:05 GMT3
Just to let (anyone interested) know that sometimes there ARE happy

2001 Jetta06 May 2004 21:44 GMT1
I had just bought a Jetta 2001. It had a problem with moving the shift-stick
out of Park to Drive at start up when cold. Then, the " MIL check " (
Malfanction Ignition Light ) came on and stayed on. At one time, the
anti-theft alarm came on every few minutes, but I believe my ...

My wife has a 96 Golf (plain old hatchback, auto and A/C) with only 43000
miles after 7.5 years.  A long delayed maintenance task has been flushing
and changing the engine coolant.  I decided to do it after my wife reported
