Are all 2004s on the lots?05 May 2004 17:42 GMT9
I've searched about 15 dealers online looking for a Jetta in a particular
combination. It seems all the good ones are gone. Gee, I can get one in reflex
silver and black leather, {{{UGH!}}}
If all 2004s are on the lots when do the 2005s roll out?
Anyone seen a Passat TDI yet?05 May 2004 17:08 GMT16
In the U.S.?
Noisy aircon on a Passat Estate 1.8T '9805 May 2004 15:06 GMT3
We have a 1998 Passat Estate 1.8T SE.  With the aircon OFF (by putting
the heater fan to off) the tickover is nice and quiet, but when it is
switched ON (switch fan on low and set temperature to LO), there is a
mechanical noise a bit like a loud noisy bearing, which is louder than
Passat '98 1.8T aircon noisy05 May 2004 14:56 GMT2
Our '98 Passat 1.8T estate (UK registered)on tickover is nice and
quiet when the aircon is off (ideally by setting the heater fan to
OFF), but when the air con is switched on, there is a mechanical noise
which is a lot louder than the tickover.  Turn fan off, noise goes
Mass Air Flow unit05 May 2004 09:54 GMT3
Hey Guys and Gals, Just wondering, I have a 99 TDI (90BHP) GOLF, I've heard
the Mass Air Flow meter goes in them, resulting in a drop of performance,
anyone know without the use of a diagnostic computer how to recognise this
fault? How much is the performance affected?
10w30 + 20w50 = 10w50 ?05 May 2004 05:14 GMT8
If I mix 10w30 and 20w50, would I get something in the ball park figure
of 10w50?  Is this even recommended?  There is 5w50 synthetic, but I was
told that it's too light (and too late in the life-cycle) for my 1986
Jetta (420km).
87 Jetta auto trans05 May 2004 03:20 GMT3
My brother has an '87 Jetta GLi with an automatic transmission--about 100K
miles on the car.  Reverse gear is out--he says it makes a grinding noise
and won't move in reverse.  It will move in the forward gears, but makes a
strange not-quite grinding noise.  He's not driving it, of ...
Can a really loose injector prevent 85 Jetta from starting?05 May 2004 01:35 GMT3
Was putzing around under the hood trying to figure out why my car
won't start.  All signs point to fuel system.  I grab the fuel
injector for cylinder #1, and it just comes out, totally loose, just
hanging out in the hole.  Naturally, it's filthy.  But, I was shocked
Synthetic oil worth it?05 May 2004 01:07 GMT25
I have 92 Passat CL.  It has about 240 000 KM on it.
Is running synthetic oil in it worth it - will it help, not, or only minor?
Comments?
Thanks,
Vibration w/ new tires? 96 2L Golf05 May 2004 00:37 GMT8
I am in the process of getting the car to an alignment shop, but has anyone
had any issues similar to mine. I just put new tires on the car, dunlop d60
sports and am having some steering wheel vibration, worst around 60-65mph.
Before mounting the tires, I thought I felt something ...
Engine vibes causing rattling, what works to stop it?05 May 2004 00:27 GMT4
I have a minor gripe... When in Drive, and foot on the brake, I get some
decent vibrations that come thru the transmission into the car body. If I
slip it into neutral it all goes away, this is of course because when in
drive the driveshafts are all still connected, and the car ...
Passat Lock Problems04 May 2004 22:28 GMT1
My 2000 Passat 115 TDi Estate was all fine until yesterday.
I noticed when I locked the car (remotely) the indicators would not always
flash (as they used to).
Today I noticed when I lock the doors from the button inside all doors lock
clicking, knocking, rattling sound in steering collumn when driving straight04 May 2004 18:27 GMT1
I am the proud new owner of a 81 VW diesel rabbit with 160k.  Driving
it home last night I noticed that there is a clicking or knocking
sound coming from the steering wheel collumn when driving straight,
particularly on gravel roads.  I don't hear or feel anything while
Mystery Part Identification (link to pictures!) - likely fuel problem, won't start.04 May 2004 14:27 GMT7
OK, experts:
I have a 1985 Jetta, 190k miles, CIS fuel system, and the Bentley book
(what a wonderful resource).
The car does not start.  I strongly suspect the fuel system, and not
vr6 oil filter04 May 2004 12:48 GMT7
I was at Walmart looking for a Fram oil filter.  The store catalog had
no listing for a 2003 vr6.  Can anyone post the model number?  The
Fram's have a few different models, too.  Any recommendations
appreciated.
