Voltage29 May 2004 14:08 GMT10
I have an 89 Cabrio that will not show more than 13 volts, and dips below
12 volts with lights and blower on.  I was told that the voltage regulator
was adjustable, but I don't see how.  The alternator checks out okay and
the voltage regulator is new.  Any ideas?

92 Jetta Front end sound when turning28 May 2004 23:39 GMT8
Today on my way back home school i noticed a weird sound when I made a left
turn.  It kinda sounds like like a mild tire squeal but I am not sure.
Could it be that I need my tires balanced? Maybe i need an alignment but I
notice no uneven tire wear.  Any suggestions would be ...
Freon fitting for '9528 May 2004 21:52 GMT3
I think my '95 has R-134A freon. The Bentley book says so. The air
conditioner output seemed low. So I decided to add some freon. I
took off the plastic cap from the low-side "service fitting".
Instead of a quick-connect fitting, there is a fitting with a female

Auto transmission replacement options for Vanagon?28 May 2004 11:47 GMT1
I have an 88 Vanagon with an 3 speed Automatic transmission. The rpm's
on the highway are too high. I was told that I can convert to a manual
transmission and get taller 3rd and 4th gears. I would rathe stick
with an AT.

washer pump28 May 2004 01:00 GMT2
Hey drivers,
My 89 jetta's windshield washer is giving up the ghost. It sputters
occasionally but generally won't put out any fluid. The lines seem
clear. I can't find any info on how to change the washer pump out. Is it
slight pulsation at high speeds, only when accelerating28 May 2004 00:54 GMT4
I've noticed that when faster then 160kph I get a slight pulsation in my
steering wheel. If I lift off the throttle it goes away, if I apply enough
throttle to maintain speed it stays... Haven't tried cruise control yet.
Even 5-10 kph less and all is fine.... Don't want to take it ...

93 Passat GLX starting problem27 May 2004 20:23 GMT8
I've been having a problem with my 93 Passat GLX starting.  About a
month and a half ago I would hear this clicking noise from under my
dash.  Finally, a couple days later on my way to work, the car just
died.  The shop I brought it to said they drove it off the tow truck.
