Polo electrical problem in hot weather30 Jun 2006 18:46 GMT4
My mother-in-law's P reg Polo has an irritating fault in very hot weather.
When the car is left standing in the sun and gets very hot, sometimes the
electric windows and (I think) the radio refuse to function. They return to
normal operation when the car cools down. Has anyone seen ...
a/c problem on '97 VW Golf30 Jun 2006 01:50 GMT3
I refilled the refrigerant in May 2004, and the Golf was cold again
until July 2005.  I took it to a shop, and they topped off a pound of
refrigerant and ran the cold a/c for 45 minutes.  It blew cold air for
another 30 minutes over the next two days, and then it stopped blowing

Just got a vintage diesel Golf28 Jun 2006 19:41 GMT11
Just got a vintage diesel Golf. I have posted answers here before but now a
question:
My rear plate lights are out. Does anyone know where the harness is
connected to the gray and brown taillight circuit for the plate lights. May
What do you think about 'Citi' cars (re) introduced to the US Market?28 Jun 2006 17:35 GMT27
As in Lupo/Polo sized VWs or the Yaris by Toyota etc.
Not everybody needs a big F150 or SUV, and some are not just going to
get a hybrid car, nor deal with (bio)diesel as an alternative.
However, there seems to be a market for fuel economy provided by a
Touchy 97 Jetta GL Trunk Lock...28 Jun 2006 16:12 GMT1
My 1997 Jetta GL (automatic) has a touchy trunk lock.
Most likely you're familiar with the way this lock works, but I'll
recap for those of you who might need a refresher course.
If the lock itself is aligned vertically then a key should be required
84 Rabbit -- Missing Horn28 Jun 2006 06:28 GMT12
I've got an 84 Rabbit that I purchased last December.  It
is completely missing its horn.  Unfortunately, Bentley
doesn't really show me much regarding the exact mounting
of the horn.  When I purchased the rabbit, the guy gave
87 16V - Blown Head Gasket28 Jun 2006 04:31 GMT4
Posted previously as 87 16V running rough.
After finally running a compression, suspected that the head gasket was
blown between 3 & 4 as the pressure was only 55 psi on both.  This was
proven true after removing the head.
Brake grinding - 99 Jetts A328 Jun 2006 02:15 GMT4
The rear brake shoes grind during wet weather.
Sounds like gravel in the drums.
It clears up if I activate the brakes  for 15 - 20 seconds, but recurs
if it sits for an hour or so. No evidence of grinding in dry conditions.
98 passat climatronic air-con question.28 Jun 2006 02:11 GMT1
When I start the car the display of the climatronic air-con flashes for
a few seconds, which I believe indicates a fault with the air con. The
garage that I go to have told me that in this case it is a pressure
sensor and a flap motor that need replacing. They also said that whilst

2001 polo vibration problem27 Jun 2006 11:00 GMT7
another question about my 2001 (Y) polo 1.4S16V.
Before I bought it I road tested it and noticed car shake - not so much
steering wheel shake, its the car body which seems to shake. Occurred
between about 50-60 mph. I got all the wheels balanced and convinced
