Just had a new exhaust fitted + CAT - my theory was that the baffles because
dislodged causing engine to block hence the backfire
Garage reckon (exhaust fitters) the car could misfire/backfire again. Garage
covering their backs said I now need to get the omissions checked........!

had a slight leak on valvecover gasket. I figured let's change it bought new
one and replaced it I tightened with a litle touch

I purchased a 2000 Passat Wagen froma non VW dealer. The door locks
engage at 10mph. The local VW dealer states they cannot turn this
function off for safety reasons. Is this true?. If not, how in the
world do you stop this annoying feature.

I have a MK2 golf with a parcel shelf thats faling apart due to the
large speaker holes that were cut out of it (not by me - I got the car
like that).
I have seen that people have made their own from MDF (or similar)

I am having trouble starting the car.(Passat S estate 2001 50,000miles)
on the first & second turn of the key there is nothing at all. then you get
the electrics playing up, locks being activated. Next turn is the engine
turning over-just. Then we get the slow start up which ...

have a 1988 fox wagen.  When started it runs at high idle or 3000rpm's plus
and stays there.
Has a 1781cc injected gasoline engine.
Any thoughts??

I installed a rebuilt cylinder head, cylinder head gasket, timing belt,

I've got an '84 diesel Rabbit.  The radiator doesn't have a cap on it.
The expansion tank is where you fill/top off the coolant.  Now, I've
got a small coolant leak that I need to track down.  I just had the
head gasket replaced in January, so I'm pretty confident that the
