VW Passat coolant loss04 Aug 2006 09:13 GMT5
I have a 1.9tdi 2000 Passat. It has started to lose quite a lot of
coolant, top the reservoir up and drive for about ten miles and the
warning message comes on and the reservoir is well below minimum. It
has had a pressure test and no fault found, there is no water in the
ah shocks!04 Aug 2006 07:54 GMT3
My '94 golf CL failed its MoT today on one of the rear shocks. They
suggested both were replaced, and also both bumpstops which were both
broken. They want 180 quid. I asked around locally and nobody seems to
carry the bumpstops, but Kwik-Fit will do both shocks for 120 pounds and
ethenol fuel03 Aug 2006 17:34 GMT9
E-85 is cheaper here in Minnesota.  How much do I ricchen my 82 rabbit
PU without EGR or O2 stuff to run it?
BTW, I think that ethanol is a terrible solution to energy problems,
almost a smokescreen.  It requires a sht ton of energy to cook and

believe, was a dealer fit Conlog alarm system. Conlog has now been

Does anyone have a source for decent cup holders for my '88 Jetta? I

seat and losing my bottles of water.
I could purchase some cheap dangly thing that hooks to the window, but

Lost  wedding ring in 2004 Jetta02 Aug 2006 21:56 GMT1
Hi, I hope someone can help me. I lost my wedding ring while sitting on the
front passenger seat of Jetta 2004. It happened very quickly , but I have
noticed where the ring went: into the seat belt opening on the floor. I saw
the ring right on top of the opening along with a dime ...
Keyless entry problem - 1999 New Beetle02 Aug 2006 21:45 GMT3
Here again,  I have seen hints of this problem in the forums, but not a
definitive answer...
On our 1999 Beetle, the keyless entry is not working correctly. When we
exit the car and press the lock button, the passenger door and trunk

Has anyone here used Mastertechs in Morden as an alternative to
dealership servicing? Good/bad reports? Googling the newsgroup history
didn't reveal anything.

2001 Jetta EPC light02 Aug 2006 12:43 GMT1
My wife has a 2001 2 liter Jetta, and the EPC light just came on.  Two
weeks ago, I took the car to my local brake shop and had front and rear
pads replace, and they turned the rotors.  My wife only belives that
you can have work done at a dealership, and is pissed right now,
90 Golf is great, but jumpy when it's damp02 Aug 2006 08:06 GMT8
I just purchased a 90 Golf GL with nearly 240.000 miles. It has been
well maintained, has a brand new distributor even. The plug wires have
also been replaced. The  previous owner told me that  it stalls when
it's driven in the wet occasionally. It stalls for about 5 minutes,
Corrado keeps dying...  dunno why?02 Aug 2006 04:24 GMT5
my girlfriend has a '90 Corrado G60 to which she is ludicrously
attached...  for the last while (not sure how long, but this is an
ongoing problem) she has had a problem with the battery going dead
while the car is parked.  Lately it has become worse; the battery went
Cause of Beetle overheating?01 Aug 2006 21:34 GMT5
The temp light came on in my 2001 Beetle 1.8T after only driving for
about 10 minutes. I had the air on and it stopped blowing cold when this
happened. When I stopped to check it, the overflow bulb didn't appear to
be boiling or venting. After my car sat for about 2 hours, the air ...

Recently, I purchased a 1980 VW diesel rabbit to burn biodiesel.
